kein Aventus

My Secret Tip!
Dear perfume lovers,

This is my first comment. At the same time, this is also the first comment on this fragrance, and I really wonder why no one has commented on this wonderfully noble perfume yet. Aside from the fact that the scent is said to be over 200 years old and has now been modernized, one must simply admit that it has something that most fragrances at Douglas (etc.) do not have. Class!
I even considered leaving you all in peace so that this fragrance doesn't get hyped like Aventus.

This fragrance radiates the unwavering self-confidence of an individualist. It is not a mainstream scent, but it definitely has the potential to captivate the masses. A skilled wearer allows the fragrance to emphasize its character, and this one does it damn well.

Admittedly, I can't pick out all the individual notes, but the overall package is wonderful. It is both floral-fresh and masculine and robust. This fragrance adapts and is absolutely wearable for men of any age! Over time, it slightly shifts to a more robust scent. The top note is incredibly beautiful and deserves full marks!

The fragrance is probably categorized as a niche scent, but there have already been very positive female reactions to it in my surroundings. Unsolicited! Some reactions were so intense that I was sniffed at persistently ;)

The fragrance also has something "older" about it, from which one could guess that the base formula originates from the Baroque period. This makes it absolutely individual and appealing. It is not an "old grandpa" note.

In summary, it is a great everyday/work fragrance for men. On hot days, the scent convinces with its freshness and floral notes without coming off as feminine. A real secret tip with great recognition value!

Edit: The beautiful bottle looks like the photo for me. However, one small thing is different with my bottle. The ribbon is in an orange-brown tone! It is not red.

Heroes are Little Fruits!
Héroique is a fragrance that, as one might deduce from the name, is supposed to smell heroic and is intended for modern men who, according to the fragrance description, want to "leave their marks" (which to me sounds a bit like marking their territory… :D), thereby highlighting the shine of their success.

Rancé was founded in the 17th century by a family of glove makers. However, even in its origins, they dealt with fragrances. For in 17th century France, it was fashionable among the aristocracy to wear perfumed gloves! Well, the son of the glove maker, Jean Francois, then founded the first fragrance workshop to be able to produce "regular" scents in the future instead of just using them as an accessory in gloves.

Although the origins of this brand go quite far back and this fragrance here looks like an older scent due to the appearance of the bottle, Héroique has become a fragrance for the modern man of today, or at least is supposed to be according to the description!

The Fragrance:
Apple and bergamot are the first notes I can smell. Even though the apple initially has a zesty scent like a sour green apple, it quickly becomes slightly sweeter and transforms into a red, sweet apple. A hint of pineapple can be perceived, but this fruit is only noticeable after some of the other fruity notes fade away. For a while, the fragrance then smells of citrus and fruity notes.
A little later, the oak moss makes its presence felt, albeit lightly, and the fragrance becomes slightly sweeter, but due to the apple, it occasionally even reminds me of apple cider.
In the base, the fragrance remains fruity but gains even more sweet notes from the amber, which prevents it from becoming truly sweet. A bit later, or in the later base, the fruity notes are significantly weaker, the sweet notes remain low, but the fragrance then becomes intensely woody.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The projection is above average and is therefore "normally" detectable, not too strong or too weak.
I find the longevity good, as the fragrance lasts longer than eight to ten hours.

The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular, tall, and slim. On the front, there is a label with a rather complicated-looking graphic that resembles a coat of arms or something. A red cord hangs from the neck of the bottle, and the cap is transparent and rectangular. Overall, the bottle looks well-made.

So, does the fragrance now smell like the success of the modern man who marks his territory… argh, I mean, of course, who leaves his marks? :DD
Well, I don't know. Such things must be judged by each person themselves, as everyone has a different perception of scents. I wouldn't describe the fragrance as modern, as it initially comes across as rather classic due to the oak moss. However, it is indeed distinctive and smells high-quality, pleasant, and naturally masculine.

I like it, even though I shouldn't really enjoy apple notes in a fragrance (but the apple isn't strong later on anyway). It is usable for almost any occasion in any season, but it probably works best on warmer days.

Heroic is not how I would describe the fragrance, but it is quite interesting and thus worth a look or a sniff!

And now, let’s hear it: Who among you fragrance freaks perfumes their gloves? :D

The Hancock of the Fragrance Universe
Through the naming, I was already mentally with Marvel, DC, or Disney. However, after applying it, I quickly found myself with Vincent Ngo's "John Hancock."
For those of you who may not know the film, I would like to briefly explain my association here:
John Hancock has pretty much everything to be a true superhero: he is invulnerable, has limitless strength, can fly, and is of course super fast. And essentially immortal. At first, it sounds like a slightly toned-down Superman, but it develops quite differently. Psychologically, Hancock seems to struggle with his role, constantly causing trouble and doing more damage than preventing it, and is always drunk one way or another.
In the Hollywood-style story, there is more or less a happy ending, but here, in our olfactory epic, it ends more like Romeo and Juliet - with an untimely death. But enough of that, back to the fragrance:
The top note is impressive; the sweet fruit mix actually reminds me, as mentioned by several predecessors, of Aventus.
But like the aforementioned superhero, these qualities can only overshadow the overall structure for a short time. The scent quickly becomes deeper, loses its sweetness, and becomes intimate. Here, I associate a reflective hero who critically questions himself and wonders if the price of triumph was perhaps too high.
And then everything happens very quickly.
The fruity notes do shimmer through again and again, but before the hero can pull himself together, he tragically dies.
After about 4 hours, the whole magic is already over; perhaps Rancé should have sought help from Hollywood after all...

Fresh and Heavy - Bergamot and Wood
Heroïque presents itself with a citrus-fruity opening, where the bergamot stands out particularly. Pineapple and apple are only faintly perceptible to my nose and fade away quite quickly. However, the fresh citrus note of the bergamot remains throughout the course of the fragrance. Gradually, a light floral nuance unfolds, which is quickly replaced by a gentle, slightly oriental spiciness. In the drydown, woody and slightly sweet nuances emerge, while the bergamot continues to be present. Overall, the fragrance evolves from the initially citrus-fruity freshness to a citrus-woody character with subtle sweet notes. These add a certain heaviness to the fragrance and make it more versatile. It is unfortunate that the floral notes, which are briefly perceptible in the base, fade away quickly.

The longevity of the fragrance is not extraordinarily long, but I find the sillage to be quite strong. However, if I want to perceive the fragrance throughout the day, I need to reapply it from time to time.

Another good Aventus mimique. This one is fresher and greener. Prominent apple, bergamot, birch, and a touch of oakmoss. No smokiness.

This is probably how "The Big A" wanted to smell. For me, it's nicer because it's fruitier. But you'll have to take care of the underwear yourself again.

Fruitier and more boozy than A. but some similarity exists. Those who hate Aventus but still want a similar scent can secretly grab this one ;D

Charming Aventus variation that I like even more than the supposed original. This one is spicier, more alcoholic, and more distinctive.

A bit soapier than Aventus, but this artificial pineapple with blackcurrant on a (teak) wood base with moss is really annoying here too.

Beautiful, high-quality scent, fresh, fruity, spicy, woody, but I prefer to stick with Aventus/Nero, H/S is just mediocre for me.

Aventus initially aimed for the warm-spicy base of this fragrance, but then got lost in a pineapple plantation and gave up.

Significantly more citrus-dry than Aventus, with a hint of light ice wine. A fine-spicy scent with a typical aftershave note/woody sweetness.

I find the perfumer uninspired and the wearer dull. Only good while the rich bergamot shines. Cardboard-fruity-boozy follower.
