The Perfect Deception
As soon as I applied the fragrance at work, the first reactions came - "This is from Chanel," my two colleagues exclaimed. Since we had already been discussing fragrances for a few days, I brought them some samples that cost significantly less but are inspired by certain perfumes. Both were completely convinced that it was Coco Mademoiselle and immediately fell into my arms, practically begging to be scented. Miro Magic is indeed quite reminiscent of the beloved, rosy Coco - but the perfect deception crumbles for me quite quickly. Of course, Miro doesn't have such good longevity, and the fragrance clearly lacks some sillage, but for a small budget, the scent is really not bad, and I must admit that it shows itself to be quite pleasant. Since my colleagues would never spend a lot on fragrances (though they still say that), they were grateful that I showed them some options. They had no clue about Miro. I knew even less before Parfumo.
So, let's get to the scent. Miro Magic starts off very subdued but has a somewhat off-putting hairspray note that comes across as rather flat. From the very first contact with the skin, one immediately knows (even a layperson) what this perfume is supposed to remind them of. A pale citrus note hits my senses, faintly reminiscent of a few sunbeams stretching over a sea of jasmine and rose. It becomes quite fresh in just a few moments. The musk is also quickly present - one powdery cloud chases the next. The film in my head plays - radiant blue sky, white robes, and innocent girls running barefoot over fresh grass.
Everything, but really everything in this fragrance feels very subtle and clearly restrained. The rose seems very young, and I would recommend this scent more for young ladies, as it clearly lacks the depth for significantly older ones. The fragrance never becomes deep and plump. It is only subtle, has a slight rosy shimmer, and feels very youthful and virginal. A light carefreeness and naivety - I still see that in my mind when I inhale the scent. There’s nothing edgy - nothing cheeky. One is simply well-behaved and nice. Personally, that feels a bit too little for me, but for some, that is good enough. Nevertheless, everything is well blended, and the scent truly harmonizes, but after an hour, it starts to bore me. The freshness becomes dull, and the flowers annoy me, as they do not come across as high-quality at all. For the price, however, it’s still okay. I wouldn’t want to wear it, as it simply isn’t my style. As for my colleagues - they were raving about it for half the day and couldn’t believe that such a fragrance, in this price range, could smell "so good" and so similar to a classic. They shrugged off the fact that it lasts significantly shorter. "Then you just spray a bit more," they said. They are right about that.
For me, as a perfumista, the difference is indeed, let’s say - quite significant - because this fragrance lacks the black mesh and the timeless elegance is somehow absent. I am not a fan of Coco M., but Chanel has certainly done a much better job than Miro. However, for this price, I really can’t complain too much.
For some, Miro Magic is a perfect deception, and I will continue to keep this in mind for my dear colleagues. Nevertheless, I filled them some Chanel, and we decided that after a week, they would comment on how different they actually are when compared directly - depth and sillage, the pale pink exchanged for a beautiful pastel nude pink that is not wrapped in virginal sheets but rather flaunts feminine, elegant traits. I am curious!
