A Floral Oriental Experience
The Damasc Oud is certainly not a bad fragrance in itself, but for me, it is a bit too floral. I see this perfume more on a woman than on myself. The longevity is very strong, with well over 12 hours on my skin, and the sillage is also quite impressive.
The top note starts off very floral thanks to rose water, garden cloves, and rose geraniums. I also detect oriental spices like cardamom, saffron, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. The heart note remains floral with powdery hints of iris, ambrette seeds, and violet. The base offers a certain sweet creaminess and woody-balsamic aromas of sandalwood, musk, benzoin, oud, and cedarwood.
Even though the Damasc Oud does not necessarily suit my taste, it is objectively well done. I thank Sören for the sample.
