Fading Shoe Leather
My Dear Watson goes on as a full-bodied, musky, new shoe leather scent. I find it immediately engaging, but sad to say, it does not last. Vanilla, musk, leather or suede, and some kind of damp, fresh/clean tinge round out the onset. If only it had remained with that balance of aromas and that force! Unfortunately, it takes a vanilla turn a few hours in (noooooo!) and then recedes to a vaguely smelling fresh skin scent at by hour four. It's a musky vanilla from that point until its premature death at seven hours or so. Weirdly, it becomes completely forgettable after four hours, so it's not involving, but at least it's not offensive. It projects one or two feet initially, fading away to nearly nothing in a few hours. In short, My Dear Watson begins life quite enjoyable, but dies before its time. This scent is another near-miss by Scentsy.
