The Silk Underwear Scent
The name is really well chosen in this case. Silk, delicate, not necessarily a weatherproof everyday companion, translucent, noble, actually unnecessary but very expensive. That pretty much sums it up.
OK, not quite...
The Silk stands at Douglas and Co. alongside all the other better designer fragrances, not differing much from them, only it's a tad more expensive and somewhat more subtle in its projection. One wears it exclusively for oneself. But why not? We're back to the topic of silk... in this case, silk underwear. You don't wear that to get compliments on the street.
But anyone thinking that The Silk is an erotic scent is on the wrong track. We are dealing here with a delicate, very fresh, and at most a little playful floral fragrance. Pepper and bergamot make the opening nice and zesty. The former also gives the floral heart note of lily of the valley and violet a certain sparkle. However, the overall impression is really very subtle. The scent is a pure skin scent. A slightly fruity hint of pear only becomes noticeable after a few hours. The base is then creamy with tonka and musk, but still with a bit of pepper on top.
You can tell that The Silk is really high quality. I've been wearing it for 6 hours and initially thought after half an hour that it would soon fade away, but with hardly any sillage, it still stays in place. I really like the scent. An elegant, almost ethereally light floral fragrance, but with a certain liveliness thanks to the pepper. It shouldn't bother you that the surroundings perceive absolutely nothing of the scent. And then of course, the question arises whether it's really necessary to spend so much money for this subtle pleasure. But that's simply a matter of personal judgment.
