Series One - Diagonal Six Scents 2008

It's unfortunate that the naming of this series sounds so abstract and mathematical, causing it not to stick in anyone's head. This clean, woody/herbal scent should have gotten more notice. It has a lovely, surprising note of dill that is quite airy and not at all the way we are used to smelling dill with its pickling-spice friends. It reminds me a bit of Comme des Garcons Wonderwood (which combines its pepper and nutmeg with an overdose of wood) and a bit more of Comme des Garcons Artek Standard (which uses fennel in the same surprising way). Anyone who likes to smell different from the crowd in a subtle way could wear this - it would be equally intriguing on men and women, young and old.

Unfortunately, I no longer remember where I got the sample from. Palonera? If so, thank you-kiss ;-). In my jumble of samples, I’m once again lost, even though I recently got rid of most of them. But today I thought: "Before you send it off, at least smell it again."
Why stages? At first, I thought: "Uhhh, it smells like the marinade I make when I marinate fresh salmon or trout to prepare salmon tartare or trout tartare the next day." You don't know that? Salmon or trout fillets (gilt-head bream works too, just not mushy carp, ugh) are marinated overnight in a mixture of lemon juice, lots of fresh dill, wild garlic leaves, and ground pepper + sea salt from the mill. The next day, the liquid is drained, and the fish is turned into a fine tartare.
WARNING, No. 4 does not smell like fish, only like the marinade, and that only at the start! I found it a bit peculiar.
BUT then!!! Stage 2! I thought: "Well, niche freaks - (sorry fragrance authors, g) have experimented again, eye roll..", a fine, woody, spicy, creamy, warm, very, very, very interesting fragrance unfolds.
The wonderful wood-herb cream, and I can’t describe it any other way, is (after 10 minutes of the marinade notes evaporating) totally to my taste, but only gets 70% because unfortunately, the longevity is not that impressive.
