Fly me to the Moon
Solange Azagury-Partridge is a very well known jewellery designer among insiders. Their precious creations may look like kitschy costume jewellery at first glance, but they are by no means. She works with the noblest and finest stones and precious metals. Cosmic was part of a diamond collection that appeared under the name "Platonic" and was launched in 2007. Cosmic formed the crowning and stellar conclusion. The perfume was designed by Lyn Harris from Miller-Harris. She takes us with Cosmic on a journey to the stars that lies far outside the normal fragrance universe. Into a cosmos full of sparkling stars and almost extraterrestrial beauty!
Cosmic
Cosmic has often been compared to Vol de Nuit. Which I think is true. But where Vol de Nuit glides gently and quietly through the night, Cosmic is much higher. Cosmic flies at the speed of light through time, space and the universe. Cosmic is like a stellar nova of molten, creamy-warm galbanum. Galbanum is, so to speak, the fixed star that outshines everything and never extinguishes during the entire course. This resinous note is accompanied by floral tones that pollinate the perfume like a cosmic mist. A powdery iris chord floats in and mixes with delicate pink tones to colorful gases that seem weightless. Colourful, dazzling and iridescent! Meteorites accompany Cosmic in the form of silky soft opoponax and leave behind a creamy soft tail of resinous vanilla melt and shine. Everything is held together by an asteroid belt of earthy chocolaty patchouli and resinous green labdanum resins. A chypre star was born!
Conclusion
Cosmic is more than a successful reinterpretation of a chypre. He has the profundity of a Vol de Nuit and the incredible softness of a Hasu no Hana. Its appearance is creamy and almost milky. Cosmic merges formally with the wearer and becomes a silky-smooth and iridescent milkyway on the skin. Sillage and shelf life are both to be described in one word. Atomic! The artistic bottle with its almost pixelated metallic design language corresponds to a stellar hand grenade. Very extravagant! Cosmic reminds me a lot of one of my favorite movies. Barbarella with Jane Fonda. Barbarella who experienced with her blind companions the angel Pygar the wildest and most erotic adventures in the galaxies. A perfume which is suitable for the modern and modern Barbarellas, but also for male angels. In my sense also unisex. Cosmic is a newly born and young star in the universe of Chypre. He is in no way inferior to the old chypre majesties. Cosmic is a small, sparkling wonder in the infinite universe of perfumes. Or how would Mr.Spock just say? Fascinating!
Acknowledgements
My thanks go to a very specific, very charming person here who observed me in my hopeless search for Cosmic from another parallel universe. It was she who redirected the orbit of Cosmic, so that I could finally catch him after felt light years and very long search. This one person owns my deepest thanks!
