Maturation of the juice makes a difference

My first time trying this, I used a tester bottle in a store that clearly had this bottle out for a while. Based on the older inventory of the store, and the fact that they don't get a lot of shoppers, I'm guessing the bottle had been out for over a year.

The juice had darkened a bit, as some vanilla-based juices often do. So my initial experience was with a bottle that had time to sit and mature, rather than a new one fresh out of a box.

During that initial testing, I was delighted. I got a vanilla that was pure, but sweetened and made fluffy - like vanilla extract, with a hint of cakey goodness. It was the same feel throughout wearing, and I felt like I'd found my "holy grail" vanilla.

Fast forward to today: I opened a fresh bottle of Vanille Eau de Parfum at home. I'm realizing that with a fresh bottle, there seems to be a bit more of a "sugary" feel to the vanilla.

I still get the whiffs of fluffy, cakey goodness in the background like before - slightly buttery, baked goods/cake. But the first thing that stands out when sniffing, is a slightly-synthetic sugar component (a la Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette ); almost candy-like sugar.

Because of this, it comes across more "cheerful", youthful, and playful than the older bottle's juice did. In its current state, it isn't the "holy grail" vanilla I initially thought it was - but it's not bad, either.

I'm hoping that if I give it time, it will mature back to that richer, more "pure" vanilla that I first fell in love with - and will update this review, if things change.
