Caribbean? No, ripe peppered cherry!
"Bora Bora" is again one of the fragrances given a name by the house "I Profumi di Firenze" adapted for the English-speaking region. This market must be taken into account.
Ciliegia e Pepe bianco" announces exactly what makes up the fragrance: cherry and pepper!
I admit, the cherry/la Ciliegia is one of the cliffs that Italian students like to be driven over.
If you can say that, you won't burn too much later on; the tongue is supple enough for anything that may come.
Now then "Bora Bora": luckily Kokos and Tiaré, as perhaps expected, remained outside!
But I very quickly develop the aroma of fresh ripe sour cherries, even a bit bizzing, before a good dose of freshly ground white pepper is added.
That tickles quite violently in the nose; especially with such a pronounced pepper allergy as I have it.
But fortunately a noble wood note (rosewood?) and a lot of rose scent spread very quickly over this fruity entrée. The roses carry a little hibiscus with them; not much: the scent would otherwise be too acidic, because the cherries are already present. (Here was a fine nose at work!)
All this is bedded on an almost classic fragrance flow, wonderfully round with lots of warm creamy vanilla, abundant amber and cedar wood.
Almonds and the Amaretto made from them complete a truly lovingly created fragrance.
"Ciliegia e Pepe bianco" draws for me the picture of an elderly lovable lady in a cultivated ambience in gold and white and fine wood notes, who invites with a glass of peppered cherry wine or amaretto and a plate full of amarettini to chat.
Everything is classic, stylish and very friendly: a fragrant restrained embrace full of sympathy.
Some days I gladly accept this invitation.
I have loved the fragrance creations of "I Profumi di Firenze" for quite some time now and Gelis is now doing the same. We both exchange our experiences regularly and not only in the form of comments.
Now time shows more and more clearly, not only with fragrances of this brand, how differently our skins and senses react. Often we ask ourselves: Are we talking about one and the same creation?
These tests are always reminiscent of a game: "I smell something you don't smell!"
So long live the difference in perception, whatever it is based on: it prevents boredom!
Ciliegia e Pepe" (also "Bora Bora" because of me) appeals to me very much; the unfussy craftsmanship of the perfumers is very appealing to me and even accompanies me for a few hours.
What remains is a "peppered cherry", but in a "slimmed-down" version: an evening walk between richly decorated Kisch trees - a delicate touch of summer promise!
