This fragrance by Prin is once again dedicated to a love story. The one between Johnny and Gheorghe from the film "God's Own Country." Johnny Saxby is the son of a sheep farmer in Yorkshire and has to take care of the herd, the farm, and also his grandmother after his father suffers a stroke. A role that weighs heavily on him. His despair is expressed through alcohol and quick sex. A vicious cycle of alienation and decline. When the time comes for the pregnant ewes to be separated from the herd to give birth, Johnny's father, against his son's wishes, hires a Romanian migrant worker for help. Gheorghe enters the lives of the Saxbys.
Here too, "the new kid in town" faces unjustified rejection and even hostility from both Johnny and the village. However, Gheorghe is hardworking, sincere, and honest. When the two are alone with the pregnant sheep in a remote pasture, another confrontation occurs, and Johnny calls Gheorghe, not for the first time, a gypsy. In the ensuing argument, Gheorghe overwhelms Saxby and makes it clear that he feels attracted to him. The two spend the night together. Through Gheorghe, Johnny learns to allow closeness and empathy, not just in physical love. The idea also emerges to give up the unprofitable sheep farming and produce cheese instead. Johnny's grandmother learns about their relationship early on and supports them, including in the business idea. After some disappointments, caused by Johnny's nature and his inner turmoil, Gheorghe leaves the farm. Only then does Johnny realize how much he loves him. After some searching, the two find each other again and decide to spend their lives together.
The fragrance is a portrait of Gheorghe. He is not only the landscape of Yorkshire, with its peat soil and wildflowers in the meadows. He is above all hay, whisky, and tobacco. He is passion. And the scent of skin that has seen much sun, rain, and wind. He is human and yet so dreamy in his roughness that he touches deeply.
Sitting alone and silently on a stone.
Listening to the wind and taking a deep breath.
A great comment! And very touching as well. However, I'm not quite sure about the scent. When the ingredient list is so overloaded, I often have trouble with the fragrance too. But I could be mistaken.
