Beloved Farmboy
This fragrance from Prin is again dedicated to a love story. The one by Johnny and Gheorghe from the film God´s own Country. Johnny Saxby is the son of a sheep farmer in Yorkshire. After a stroke of his father he has to take care of the herd, the farm and his grandmother. A role that's really bothering him. Expression of his desperation is alcohol and fast sex. A vicious circle of alienation and decay. When the time comes for the pregnant ewes to be separated from the herd for the birth of their offspring, Johnny´s hires father, against the will of his son, a Romanian migrant worker to help him. Gheorghe enters the life of the Saxbys.
Also here "the new kid in town" meets both with Johnny, and in the village unjustifiably way on much rejection and even hostility. Gheorghe, however, is diligent, sincere and honest. When the two are on a lonely pasture with the pregnant sheep, another confrontation occurs and Johnny calls Gheorghe, not for the first time, a gypsy. He overwhelms Saxby in the ensuing dispute and makes him understand that he is attracted to him. They spend the night together. Through Gheorghe Johnny now learns to allow closeness and empathy, not only in physical love. The idea of abandoning unprofitable sheep farming and producing cheese was also born. Johnny's grandmother knows about their relationship quite early and supports them. Also in the business idea. After a few disappointments, caused by Johnny's nature and his mental dissension, Gheorghe leaves the court. Only now does Johnny realize how much he loves him. After some searching the two find each other and decide to spend their lives together.
The fragrance is a portrait of Gheorghe. It is not only the landscape of Yorkshire, with the peat soil and the wild flowers on the pastures. It's mainly hay, whiskey and tobacco. He's passion. And the scent of skin that saw much sun, rain and wind. He is human and yet so dreamy in his roughness that he touches deeply.
