Perfume & Aromatherapy
With "Douceur Vanillée," I bought a perfume for the first time solely because of its aromatherapeutic effect. Until now, I have only experienced this with individual essential oils.

I noticed while testing the Acorelle fragrance sample set that this perfume calms me. It envelops me in a very delicate yet impressive way. I also had the impulse several times to apply it before going to bed, and it was wonderful to fall asleep with it. The scent radiates a loving yet strong softness, unlike any other perfume I have encountered so far. And it helps me transform my pent-up anger and aggression.

However, the name "Vanilla Sweetness" conveys a somewhat misleading impression. It is not a classic vanilla scent. It is primarily a powdery-fruity white-yellow-apricot-colored floral fragrance on - yes - a fine sweet vanilla-benzoin base. Sunny, feminine, and creamy. Although the longevity could really be better. That is the only drawback. But I simply spray and roll it on more often. There is also a 10ml roll-on.

Acorelle itself describes this 100% natural perfume as "encouraging." And in the official description, it actually says:

"… Douceur Vanillée is a strengthening and calming scent. The essential oil of Ylang Ylang eliminates disappointments, doubts, and lack of self-confidence and helps to rediscover softness, tolerance, harmony, and serenity. Benzoin is often recommended for cases of emotional exhaustion or depression and is also particularly uplifting. It alleviates nighttime fears, outbursts of anger, sadness, and emotional shocks. The added floral water of organic rose calms, relieves tension, and promotes inner harmony."

I only read this description after my extensive testing. My impression is thus fully confirmed. Wow.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a natural scent that can help you transform your pent-up anger, then give "Douceur Vanillée" a try. I feel the scent primarily in the solar plexus, where it has a soothing effect, and I see its color as light yellow-apricot.

If you want to wear it as a fine summer perfume, which I can certainly recommend, just be prepared to spray it on frequently and often.

I am curious about your experiences.

Rather a Delicate Entry Chypre
I ordered a 10ml roller of this blind along with my hair color. I only tested it briefly - hm, it doesn't smell like vanilla at all, it's undefinable and weak, I couldn't make anything of it and it initially disappeared into my special drawer...
Today, I suddenly felt like engaging with it. It is again (as with other Acorelle perfumes) difficult to pick out individual notes and there is no real development, at least no distinctly sparkling standalone top note. At first, I detected the Amyris (after the alcohol had evaporated), a woody-dry desert wind. There is a slight fruity note present. If it were a candy, it would be a lemon candy. Patchouli is only minimal, more of the fresh kind. Bergamot works against the base notes, trying to bring in freshness, but only manages to make everything a bit looser and lighter. Iris definitely, yes, the floral heart note is powdery. Quite nice, natural, not old-fashioned. Underneath, there is a fresh note that is not citrusy, rather somewhat mentholated. Maybe that is also part of the candy note.
I can't detect vanilla at all; the fragrance only gains a minimal sweetness from the floral notes. However, it is a flattering, warm scent that feels high-quality in a very understated, almost subliminal way. It gives off a delicate aura that surely works more subconsciously. No one will ask you what kind of bomb perfume you are wearing.
I think it shines best in summer on warm skin; in winter it would get lost. The scent is close to the body from the start, but lasts long; the later mélange on the skin is Chypre-like but not harsh, rather warm-woody-oriental.
A special fragrance, it just needs to be given its due space.
