Azman/ Majnoon

A brand from the United Arab Emirates for which they create various famous noses. Their best fragrance for me.
At the beginning I will write that durability and projection are really very high.
The core of this fragrance is a mixture of two types of oud, but served in a very accessible, yet powerful way. There are, among others, notes of pomegranate, coffee, saffron, cloves, champaki, rose, tobacco, leather, incense and cypriol. At least I can sense these glimpses. The fragrance is perfectly mixed and reminds me a bit of the 2 fragrances of Areej Le Dore. I think it is really great considering how it is mixed, what quality ingredients we have, how it evolves and how much atomic durability it has. I recommend it to all agarophiles and those who are curious about new sensations.

Majnun!

Majnoon, from the Arabic Majnun: crazy, incredible!
That's right, we are just in front of a truly eccentric and masterfully assembled fragrance that at the first "taste" leaves you speechless.
The explosive start of coffee, pomegranate, spices (saffron and cloves first and foremost) comes immediately to the nose like a horse in full stride.
Chocolatey, dusty and red fruit scents warmly envelop the wearer .
Full-bodied, assertive, opulent, but not disturbing.
The drydown is also noteworthy with rose, vanilla and oud, lots of natural oud.
More precisely 2 types of oud: one Thai and the other Indian that combined together support and create the solid foundation of the fragrance.

Azman Majnoon (Nose: Prin Lomros)

Disclaimer: these are strictly personal opinions

Definitely oriental, it opens with a very strong and impactful pomegranate alcoholic/boozy explosion.

The opening does not excite me very much, the scent becomes much more gentle and rounded during the drydown. A woody (two types of oud inside) and resinous/balsamic notes prevails, also by a beautiful non-ecclesiastical incense. The alcoholic note it disappears quickly, however the pomegranate remains in the background and returns a touch of originality to the fragrance. I haven't noticed any other evolutions, the fragrance stays in that way until the end.

The gourmand part of the fragrance (coffee/chocolate) is better perceived during the drydown. Is skilfully mixed with woods and a smoky part and gives softness to the perfume.

Duration is very long lasting, 12/15h on the skin and over 24h on the clothes. The sillage is moderate and remains concentrated in the first 2 hours. The color of the liquid is very dark and stains a lot, so don't spray it on your clothes.

Overall I consider it a high quality fragrance, noble ingredients are perceived and the composition is well done. It is not a blindbuy, as the fragrance is pretty oriental and it is not made for apprentice noses. Standard cured packaging. Bottle is well made.

I am not typically an oud lover. Actually, I generally find it off putting. In this fragrance, it is perfect though. I found a sample of this that I had apparently purchased some time ago but I had forgotten about it. It's 34* where I'm at today, so I thought it would be the perfect time to pull out this dark brown liquid and give it a go. I had a feeling it would be masculine, so I asked my husband to be the tester. This is beautiful. I've not smelled anything like it. Earthy, chocolatey, cinnamon oud. I don't get any florals. The cloves are light and do not make the fragrance seem dated. It's just.. chef's kiss. Beautiful.

One of my Top 5 perfumes

This, along with Russian Oud, were my favourite purchases of 2023.

Majnoon is a very intense, rich, dark and deep gourmand oud. It opens with notes of coffee, cinnamon and saffron. The heart is a very thin rose, supported by cypriol, earthy leather and tobacco. This is followed by a base of oud, frankincense, amber and powdery vanilla woods.

The spices and oud give a warmth that lingers throughout the perfume's atomic life, which projects madly. A well-rounded, bold perfume given the complexity of the composition.

My favourite of all Prin's creations that I have had the pleasure of testing.
