An Alluring Wood For Women

For some reason Tamboti Wood has become in short supply in the last year. I had a full bottle of it about 5 years ago and I re-gifted it to a friend because I thought it was too masculine for me. Well, of course age and wisdom has taught me one thing about myself...I am a very fickle creature. Samples are still to be had but as soon as I get the idea that a full bottle of this would be nice and desired...gone with the wind! Tamboti wood, I now realize is really the perfect sensual smooth mix of Sandalwood, with a little light hearted cedar touch notes and just a light splash of fresh vetiver. I like this best in the Fall when it takes on a bit of smokiness, but it can easily be worn year round if you simply adore earthy alluring woody scents. This has a little more weight and longevity than Ava Luxe No. 23, my other favorite 4 season niche wood fragrance. In contrast this is like Comme Des Garcons' Wonderwood dialed back to a pre-testosterone induced "UFC Tap Out" level (if that reference eludes, have no fear...American Wrestling Manly stuff, never mind). Tamboti dries down a little bit musky, resinous and sexy. I think this would be an evening scent for me if I could ever get my hands on a full bottle. It layers well with my Henri Bendel's Orange Flower and my Leila Lou by Rosie Jane a.k.a., my Spring time floral girlie scents to transform them from daytime clean, sweet and fresh to slightly sultry evening wear, IMHO. Worn alone, it is comforting and outdoorsy feeling in fall and Winter-perfect for a bonfire. Anyway, if you have an opportunity to try this one, it is a safe bet if you like Sandalwood scents or lean towards the earthy fragrances and are looking for a reasonably priced niche addition to your collection.
