"Glazed Champaca" plus "Red Berries" (scare quotes intended)

I must be getting better at dissecting celebrity scents, as I immediately detected a couple of differences between Taylor Swift WONDERSTRUCK ENCHANTED and its predecessor, WONDERSTRUCK. First, the fruit of WONDERSTRUCK ENCHANTED seems more like the proverbial "red berries" than the purplish fruits of WONDERSTRUCK. Second, the ugly pseudo-amber-pseudo-woody base which I so dislike is not present in WONDERSTRUCK ENCHANTED.

Together these changes already make ENCHANTED a better fragrance to my nose. I can even imagine, if I try really hard, that somewhere in this sweet hot mess (just wanted to use that expression, since everyone else does so with such vim and verve--but what does it mean????) is a note which I believe to be new to perfumery: glazed champaca blossom. Better glazed champaca than glazed carrots, I suppose, but let's be honest: no plant life was sacrificed in the production of this perfume.

I consider WONDERSTRUCK ENCHANTED to be closer to the Britney Spears line-up than to the Jessica Simpson. Which makes sense, since this, too, is an Elizabeth Arden, not a Parlux creation.

As Midnight Fantasy is to Fantasy ...

As Midnight Fantasy is to Fantasy, so is Wonderstruck Enchanted to Wonderstruck.
I liked Wonderstruck. It has a pretty, freesia note. I didn't buy it because I thought it was rather expensive for what it was, a happy fruity floral.

I like Wonderstruck Enchanted too. It's more of a vanilla, not a cloying oriental but a lighter, subtle, fruity oriental, blueberry or peony, a bit more grown up than Wonderstruck. Has a soft body, hints of sweet woodsy musk. Lasts about 7 hours on me with 4-5 sprays. Dries down soft and with a hint of vanilla or toffee.

I consider it's still too expensive for what it is. I already have Midnight Fantasy (a slightly stronger floral oriental) so I probably wouldn't buy this even if it came around on special.

A Sweet Little Fruit

I discovered Wonderstruck Enchanted last autumn in the bargain bin at the drugstore. Reduced to five euros, not much to lose. Took a tester, sprayed it on. Nice sweet-fruity scent, quite pleasant.

The fragrance starts distinctly with passion fruit. A few berries and flowers are also present. The whole thing is framed by vanilla, woods, and musk.
However, Wonderstruck Enchanted doesn't have much of a scent development, but remains consistently sweet-fruity, ending very powdery.

The sillage is surprisingly quite pleasant, as I have encountered stronger contenders before.
Nevertheless, a careful application is recommended, as the scent can become too intense otherwise.

A very nice fragrance for autumn and winter and for going out in the evening.
It definitely suits very young girls beautifully as well.

Longevity is about 6 hours, which I find acceptable.

Those who enjoy fruity-sweet scents won't go wrong here.

A Comparison to the Predecessor.

I was able to test Taylor Swift's latest fragrance - Wonderstruck Enchanted - today at the new drugstore around the corner. I actually wanted to take a closer look at the predecessor perfume "Wonderstruck," as some said it smells like cotton candy. In comparison, I must say that I prefer Wonderstruck Enchanted a bit more than the regular Wonderstruck. Wonderstruck Enchanted is a sweet, floral-fruity scent, very pleasant and very "red." The color of the bottle absolutely reflects the individual notes - I can distinctly smell wild berries. Glazed sugary berries. After a while, the fragrance becomes a bit more floral but still remains sweet. I find the scent very pleasant. The longevity is about 4 hours on the skin. However, it lasts longer on clothing.

Addendum: Unfortunately, I get a rash from the fragrance when I spray it on my skin. Not a strong one, but it is visible. Red spots, exactly where I sprayed it. I find that very unfortunate, so there is a deduction.

Enchanted Moment

~ Inspiration ~
With my purchase of the "Taylor" sample, I also got one of "Wonderstruck Enchanted."

~ Bottle ~
The shimmering purplish-red color combined with golden accessories (in the form of vintage charms) and ornate lettering makes it appear regal. The name means something like "enchanted moment" - in which one feels immediately drawn to another person and is as if under a spell *sigh*

~ Fragrance ~
Wild berries, passion fruit, and pink poppy give it a fruity-sweet opening. Sugared (Champaca) flowers, peonies, and subtle freesias form the floral heart. Creamy vanilla, warm woods, and white musk provide a sensually oriental base.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours (longer on clothing and hair). A modest application is advisable, as it can otherwise become too sticky-sweet and overpowering.

~ Occasion ~
A gourmand autumn and winter fragrance for cold, cozy evenings.

~ Conclusion ~
Yay - a new cotton candy scent for me! :)
