Interesting Facts

The American manufactory "The Parlor Company" was founded around 2010 and produces small batches of perfumes, eau de colognes, skincare products and jewelry by hand in a workshop in an old farmhouse in Maine.

The founder of the small niche house is make-up artist and jewelry designer Anna Adams, whose current products sound sometimes spooky and dark. "Grave", "Heirloom Elixir", "Till Death Do Us Part", "Cemetery", "Hearse" and similar are the names of some of her perfume creations; "Mortician Collection", "Mourning Collection" and "Embalmer's Fragrance" are names of her collections. Anna Adams harmonizes her creations and their names by choosing suitable fragrance notes.

The unusual palette of perfumes, some of which are black, is based on a positive attitude towards the transience of life, the appreciation of old mourning and burial rituals and thus the telling of the story of an era gone by, the veneration of ancestors, a death-positive view of our existence and a fascination with cemeteries and the paranormal.

According to the manufacturer, the creations of "The Parlor Company" are inspired by Victorian recipes and are 100% cruelty-free.
