When Coffee and Vanilla Go on a Date with Lavender - Castrated "A*Men"
The name "Luxure" creates immense expectations, which are somewhat tempered by the knowledge of Otto Kern's rather modest perfumery skills.

The fragrance opens with fairly soft lemon and pepper notes. Not very breathtaking, rather inconspicuous due to its subtlety.

After about 15 minutes, a slightly gourmand tone emerges, with coffee notes, resembling milk coffee, increasingly dominating. Lavender adds a relaxed, slightly dry-ethereal touch.
Vanilla joins in with a slightly sweet note, and by then, one feels reminded of a very simply imitated, harmless "A*Men".

The base itself is quite okay, suitable for autumn, as it is not too intrusive and still has a rather friendly soft-gourmand character.

Why the production has been discontinued is a mystery to me
And I do not agree with the rather negative comments.

I found this scent wonderful and very seductive on a man. What I particularly liked was that the fragrance was not overpowering yet still smelled masculine and enchanting.

Many men's fragrances I find to be very penetrating, and they often trigger in me the urge to quickly open the window to let in fresh air (or to quickly seek the exit). Furthermore, many of the scents smell like 'run-of-the-mill, already smelled before', nothing special.

Although Luxure was not a high-end product but a drugstore perfume, it surprised me greatly. For an Eau de Toilette, the longevity was decent. I also liked the bottle, simply designed and without much fuss.

Once I sprayed it on my boyfriend, I was already glued to him and couldn't stop sniffing him. "Just go away already" was just one of the comments I had to listen to.

I find it very unfortunate that production has been discontinued and hope that I will find a fragrance similar to Luxure.

Not the greatest luxury, but still...
Otto Kern's Luxure is not exactly the biggest luxury item since the invention of coinage, but it is still a fairly decent evening fragrance.

The initial contact is somewhat aggressive with citrus/peppery notes (and synthetic), but Luxure quickly settles down and develops into a very pleasant, albeit quite unobtrusive all-round men's fragrance with a coffee aroma - not too overpowering, gently sweet without becoming sticky.

As mentioned, it is quite unobtrusive and there are countless fragrances in this category that do it better, more sustainably, and more precisely, but for the price that OK asks, it's really okay.

Smells like nothing at all!
I came across this product purely by mistake, due to a mix-up. In the drugstore, the sprays for the male and female scents had been switched. So, I unknowingly picked up the feminine "Luxure" in front of the men's shelf, found it very original (for a men's fragrance), and immediately decided to buy it, but not here, rather somewhere else where it’s a little cheaper.

When I tried it at home - full of good expectations, of course - I was just astonished. It smelled like nothing at all, at most a bit like soap, and remained completely indefinable in that respect.

Of course, the next day I bought the correct fragrance - it doesn’t cost much. So, the scent for women. Well... in that sense, this one wasn’t very interesting either.

Today, I sniffed the "Luxure Masculin" again, on paper and on skin. However, my impression hasn’t changed. The stuff still smells like almost nothing. At first, when you take a direct sniff, it stings. Then and/or from a distance, an indefinable soap scent emerges. And that quickly disappears again. What remains is a question and an emptiness, but also a lesson.

I would gladly be willing to give away both bottles (m + f).

If it's Otto Kern, then it has to be the Signature
For a few weeks now, I have been using the Signature by Otto Kern and I must say, even though it is not one of the higher-priced EDTs, I really like the scent. The only downside is ... please read the Signature comment that I will post in the next few days. So, back to the Luxure. I had hoped that this EDT would lean in the same direction, ideally even spicier. But of course, the fragrance composition, which I only saw later, does not allow for that.

The scent initially has a nice freshness, which comes from citrus components (lemon and bergamot), even though it is a bit biting - so keep your nose a little away! However, in the heart note, I miss the strong sandalwood. Here, they have obviously only used a tiny piece of sandalwood. The coffee wood also seems to be present only in homeopathic doses. But you can clearly smell the lavender, although after a while, it almost becomes the only scent, hhhmmmmm!!! This is finally rounded off by the vanilla, which comes across a bit strangely together with the lavender. Unfortunately, the patchouli is also added in minimal amounts.

My conclusion is: If it should be Otto Kern, you can't get past the Signature, which is by far better, as it does not smell as piercing (at the beginning) and as soapy (afterwards) compared to the Luxure.
