A Sultry and Peculiar Rose Scent
Many thanks to Sören for the sample of Manhattan Rose 44 :-) This is truly a quirky rose fragrance that leaves me a bit confused. At least, I have never perceived rose in a scent quite like this before. More on that later. The longevity is good at 8 to 10 hours, and the sillage is also noteworthy.

The top note starts off with a bouquet of red roses. But more like one that is thrown full force into your face. Strangely, it also smells sour, green, synthetic, and aldehydic. In the heart note, I perceive a lot of rose water with a hint of cypress. The base remains, oh wonder, a sea of flowers consisting of rose geraniums, iris, and violets. Unfortunately, I find this floral aspect not enchanting but rather annoying. In the background, there is also a hint of soapiness.

It may also be that I am simply overwhelmed by this intense "rose presentation." Those who love roses to the core might find a great gem here. But only if money is no object, as the bottle is outrageously expensive.

Relax !!!
Even with the first spray, my limbic system kicked into high gear and instantly transported my little brain back several years, to the "largest thermal and sauna landscape in Europe," still in its original form, the cozier one and not this newly formulated nonsense facility.

And there was the beautiful old rose sauna! A wooden house in the middle of the garden, painted pink on the outside and cozy dark inside, relaxing and so wonderfully fragrant! Dried rose bunches hung all over the walls, interspersed with a few lavender branches, a fountain with synthetic rose oil and a large rose quartz splashed in the corner, the wood radiated a pleasantly fragrant warmth.

I loved lying in this dark nest, which offered me security and endless relaxation.

And when Cupid, that treacherous bastard, was particularly "nice" to me again, I let the greatest comforter in matters of heartbreak: the rose, dry many a tear.

Gone is that beautiful sauna, gone is the heartache, what remains is memory and this scent.

A rose is a rose and yet not a rose
is how this fragrance strikes me.
A sample was included with a purchase package.
"Krigler," never heard or read of it.

At first, I thought:
Just get rid of it - rose scents are not really my thing.

And then again - I could be missing out on something - I tested it.
And I was pleasantly surprised:
What a soft, delicate scent.
From the very beginning:
A composition - it may well be the details mentioned in the fragrance pyramid - no idea.

In any case, a very soft, delicate, and yet lasting scent for the quiet and loving moments of life.

It may sound trivial - this fragrance is simply a feeling of life for me.
I can't describe it any other way.
Longevity and sillage may not be overwhelming - for me, with this scent, that’s not so important... a fragrance for closeness, whatever that may be.

In short:
In my entirely subjective opinion, this is a fragrance for lovers of not overly rosy scents, who still want to test a bit of rose from time to time, as they are not entirely averse to rose and indulge in the joy of experimentation...
In this sense

A big Rose
The first sample from the Wanderrosen package is immediately a scent that has not yet been commented on. Well then:
"Manhattan Rose 44" by Krigler is a sharp, very aldehydic rose fragrance with a not insignificant sillage. MR44 starts off very soapy and leaves no doubt about a, albeit artificial, rose scent. No ifs and buts. After a while, slight green notes emerge again in intervals. The musk clearly amplifies the already very dominant rose scent. There is nothing fine or subtle about it. Cypress? It is completely overwhelmed by the rose, and violet is probably only used to create the overly obvious rose scent and is thus absorbed.
A rose fragrance, oh yes! And what a fragrance it is. For long stretches, it is also very synthetic. But would I want to wear it? Never! It is far too strong! I only dabbed a tiny area of skin and find MR44 unbearable after 2 hours. This is somehow no longer a contemporary rose fragrance, if it ever was.

Radiantly bright, not overly dominant rose, metallic cool, fresh aldehydes, unusual, clean, "young" rose scent, vintage.

I'm a passionate fan of such rose scents. Captivatingly cool, green, tangy, and in the end, soapy. So beautiful!

It's truly an absolutely natural rose geranium scent. I smell neither soap nor aldehyde. Refreshing rosy green rose & rose geranium :-)

Yellow rose against whitewashed stone, slowly fading into the cool shadow of the house corner. Could easily be a British vintage!

1.soapy aldehydes, synthetic rose, thick sillage
2.green undertones + musk + violet
3.getting more and more intrusive, it’s no longer a contemporary perfume.

A mix of rose and aldehydes: memories of scents from the eighties come to mind; only their opulence is missing. This is not a rose scent for me!
