not so smoky, but lovely
An aromatic and freshly light lapsang souchoung tea with soft whips of dark smoke lingering overhead. I expected it to much smokier but it’s much more on the aromatic and fresh side of things. There’s a sweet apricot skin note here that helps elevate the scent and add a tinge of sweetness for balance. There’s also hints of an earthy carrot seed that feels interesting. The dry down is ultimately a subtly smoked tea scent with fresh green facets and a touch of apricot lingering.

Sophisticated Lapsang Souchong with classy apricot
I'm always on the lookout for a tea fragrance to add to my collection. Don't know why it took me so much time before getting to this one, but here I am!

I don't have a lot of experience with black tea so I was pretty eager to test this one out when I realized it had a tea note. I only have Dear Polly Eau de Parfum which is strong on the Ceylon tea, the smokiness and the apple note. This one is different in its own way. It has a very nice black tea note with herbal freshness: refined and sophisticated. There is some smokiness, but it's not as strong as Vilhelm's version. It's more in the air as you smell it while it wafts up to your nose, rather than in-your-face. I think apricot is the hidden star of this perfume. It lends a very subtle, but beautiful fruity sweetness that pairs very well with the Lapsang Souchong tea note. Middle note has a spiciness that reminded me a bit of cinnamon although not quite so (cassia is it you?). It's not too strong, but adds some lovely depth and complexity. I also start getting some woodiness as the fragrance moves forward, but nothing disruptive. Drydown becomes warmer with a subtle resinous scent, but the tea note remains strong. It also becomes slightly spicy. A very unique and comforting drydown.

It's a very lovely and elegant fragrance that can be worn by anyone. I'll be searching for a full bottle since it's sufficiently different from my Vilhelm one and I’ve fallen in love with the scent from the top to bottom note. Can also be worn any season since it's not too heavy and not too strong (although I'm less inclined to wear it during summer. I find the fragrance has been masterfully well-blended with a respect towards each of the notes featured here. It does stick closer to the skin than radiating a bubble scent, but I don't mind it as long as I can keep sniffing it on myself during the day.

Very Close to Perfect
I'm not a person given to "signature scents." I'm a typical Pisces, too moody and changeable for that kind of commitment. Therefore it's a pretty short list of perfumes that I would consider my "desert island" choices - you know, the ones you'd choose if you could only pick a few to wear for the rest of your life. Indigo Smoke is on my shortlist.

I've been on a quest for a scent that evokes lapsang souchong tea, a scent I really adore. Too many scents that have a true smoky profile veer off into barbecue territory, which I don't hate, but it's doesn't hit quite right for true fragrance nirvana for me. Indigo Smoke strikes just the right balance with the freshness of the citrus and fruit, and the warm smokiness of lapsang souchong tea.

The overall effect is something I could wear for days and days.

Peace in the Present Moment
Simply beautiful. Indigo Smoke is comforting, soft, warm. Evokes the restfulness that a cup of lapsang souchong (my favorite tea) brings to me. When the apricot note comes through, it even brings to mind images of sitting in the grass under an orchard in the sunset of a warm, lazy summer day.

The notes meld together so smoothly, they're a little difficult perceive separately. The vanilla lends a creaminess, like almond milk in your black tea. The fruit subtly sweetens without leaning too gourmand. The dry wood forms a solid base and the incense smoke wisps lightly around it. Soft, delicate, homey. I just can't feel stressed when I smell it.

I like to wear this perfume to sleep, or when I want a comforting and relaxing feeling. Indigo Smoke is for quiet times.

A well-crafted interpretation of the oriental tea
Inspired by Lapsang black tea originated from Fujiang, China, Indigo Smoke brings out the smoke from the very beginning, which is exactly the signature olfactory profile of this tea. The earthy characteristics are unfolded by vetiver, guaiacwood, and maté accordingly. Upon the dry-down, it gets sweeter and brighter by the fruit note, redolent of the tea in your mouth.
There have been a couple of quality smoky black tea fragrances launched in the market, such as Russian Tea Masque Milano and Bohea Bohème Mona di Orio, while Indigo Smoke is no less than them by its elegance and the wonderful balance of smokiness and sweetness. It not just meets the tea lover's requirement on the photo-realistic tea scent, but also has the above-average performance as a perfume to wear.

Warm spicy tea fragrance with a smoky touch that grows over time (gaiac & incense), the fruitiness is more mild & only towards the open.

A smoky tea fragrance with a creamy ink note thrown in. More perfumey than Russian Tea, but probably also more nuanced.

This is the tea scent of my dreams. A little sweet, a little smokey, very tannic with a citrus tang. Beautiful

Dry, smoky yerba mate still in the tin waiting to be brewed, with a plate of dried apricots.

Black tea and bergamot, sweetened creamy vanilla. Woody and incense notes float through very gently. Very pleasant.

Smells like a bundle of herbs and flowers on fire. I can also smell the notes of black tea others are talking about. More manly than feminine.
