Imperial Woods Tru Fragrance

If you see this in a discount store I would recommend at least stopping to smell it.

The opening has an odd grapefruit + acetone top note masking the expected scent profile. In 2-3 minutes it looses the harsh opening and settles into a wonderful citrus, earthy, and woody scent. It’s not unique but it fills the fresh, aromatic, green lane incredibly well for the price point.

Performance is ok. It doesn’t project very well and it’s a skin scent in 2-3 hours.

This is a lovely piney wood scent. There is something almost incense-like in the balance of crisp cold and wood. It avoids the cleaning product or deodorant notes of some pine scents.m I came across this at a discount store when I was in a phase of testing designer and niche incense frags, and this competes well with many much more expensive colognes, in my opinion. It is not especially complex and it’s fairly stable—it doesn’t evolve much over the course of the day wearing it. I struggled with how to rate it because there isn’t much composition so it feels odd to rate it higher than 6 when there are so many more complex and well composed colognes. But it is lovely in its simplicity and consistent. The bottle is simple but the atomizer is above average and gives an even, well-dispersed spray. I enjoy this on its own or layered with a sweet floral, like a jammy rose or powdery violet, to add depth and balance. It is absolutely transcendent with,Toy Boy, Lush’s Rose Jam, and/or the Native Cedar deodorant.
