"Oudiges" of the special class!
And once again, I am the only owner of a fragrance that is almost unknown. Behind the "Unknown Brand" is, however, a well-known manufacturer: "Ard Al Zaafaran" from the United Arab Emirates. And it smells just as "Arabic" and "Emirati" as one would expect. Dark, very spicy oud, which has fine "gourmand notes" without being too sweet. Cinnamon is a "red" spice, obtained from the bark of the cinnamon tree, which is found in warm regions.
It is also somewhat "sandpaper-rough," which makes it quite present.
Then there is nutmeg, which consists of ground "nuts" or is also available as whole nuts. It does not belong to the family of true nuts; its shape probably gave it its name. It is somewhat rough, dark-aromatic, and contains a wealth of different components in its scent.
Other woods besides that of the "Agarwood tree" are also clearly discernible. The most well-known:
Sandalwood. "Real" or not, it has a very fine and simultaneously long-lasting scent. And amber is just as present as cedar. The former is fine-sweet-resinous, the latter green-aromatic and then tends towards a silvery-blue, resembling the needles of the tree. Guaiac wood has something dark, balsamic, but is also somewhat spicy. Only a delicate hint of musk can be sensed. Like a fine, light veil. In the midst of it all, a pinch of jasmine, which, however, hardly comes into play. All together, this results in an Arabic oud fragrance that can easily compete with much more expensive perfumes. Great class!!
