Midnight in Paris Van Cleef & Arpels 2010 Eau de Toilette

Powdery, a bit one dimensional, not too overbearing, sweet but light enough for cool spring days and cool summer nights. Pleasant. I guess there are faint hints at tea and leather, but these are in the flanks and not center stage. They bring some structure. There’s nothing really wrong with this fragrance. I can sense the elegance in it and, in a way, understand why it is being lauded. With that said, I still find it overrated. It’s not a masterpiece as at it lacks that type of complexity and there’s also something synthetic about MIP. Get it if you must, but fear not missing out on something special. And don’t overpay. MIP was basically a cheapie that you could buy for 20$ - well worth that amount. The bottle does make it a bit special, got to admit.
