Oud is not just Oud
When it comes to the topic of Oud, one cannot easily escape it if one is involved with perfumes, and (I am almost inclined to say) naturally, one cannot overlook Tom Ford's Oud Wood. I would not want to call the scent by Vince Camuto a fragrance twin, although there are parallels. Both scents feature Oud alongside other woods that particularly come to the fore in the base note. However, the Oud from Vince Camuto also has spice components that make the scent much more complex, warmer, and softer for me. It's as if you take a piece of music that already has a beautiful, memorable melody and blend the chords (there are chords in fragrances too) into perfect harmony. Especially saffron and nutmeg bring an additional dimension to the fragrance profile, which does change slightly over time but never becomes trivial. For me, this is the scent that fits me and my skin just a little better in most situations and moods.
