Tea, fig, tobacco in equal measure

Oh man this is impeccably blended. Tea, fig, and tobacco in equal measure. Sweet and smooth opening, settling into a woody aromatic base. It also seems "fresh" and "vacation"-y in a way, there is some aromachemical in there giving sunscreen/beachy vibes, which is such a unique take on tobacco. It seems that this fragrance is being marketed specifically to women, which is a shame because it is perfectly unisex, and actually many of the women trying it here and on Fragrantica are complaining about how "masculine" it is, perhaps due to the tobacco note. The low value for money rating is unfair; Casa Blanca easily competes with similar scents in the collections of Le Labo, LV, or Initio, and is similarly priced. Performance is great as well, really underappreciated summery tobacco scent.

Fresh tobacco on a yacht

It's always amusing to see how people gender perfumes. As a woman, to me this is only too masculine if you only wear highly femme fragrances. Casa Blanca is pure unisex, nothing overtly manly about it at all. In fact, my husband says it's too femme for him.nnThis was a love at first sniff for me. The tobacco is probably the most realistic "fresh pack of cigarettes" I've smelled. So good. I think the fig lends just the right mild sweetness to capture that scent accurately. I interpret the suede and oud+bourbon accords as soft cashmere on top of a deep grounding note. No stinky ouds here. It's softer and smoother than The Noir imo, and less spicy. I would wear this year round.nnInitially I had decided the performance doesn't merit the price. It doesn't last a long time. But when my sample was gone I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I had to buy a larger decant. Not sure about a full bottle yet but under consideration.

Cold marble on your well manicured feet

This a truly special scent. Another review said it’s fresh but not a freshie and I so agree. The mineral note is dominant for me… it smells like how cold marble on a warm day feels on bare feet. In the case of this scent, those feet are very well cared for with a subtle polish - effortlessly composed. Like the marble, cool… but the warm day makes it feel comfortable and soothing.

This gets a surprising amount of positive comments for such a complex and unique scent.

weird, but in a cool way

this is such a weird scent, but in a really interesting and luxe way. Smells like if you took bars of steel, wrapped them in soft suede sheets surrounded by wisps of smoky black tea. It’s mineralic, smoky but in a light and wispy way, creamy from the suede, warm and resinous from the copal. I don’t get much fig, just aromatic tea, the mineral notes, and warmly smoked resins. Dry down becomes a bit richer and a touch sweeter, but for me this stays a bit too masc leaning for my personal tastes. Weird but in a good way

Lovely and infinitely wearable!

This is such a beautiful perfume. I could wear it every day, no matter the season. I am a big fan of House of Bo overall, and Casa Blanca is high on my list of favorites. There is just something special about the mineral notes mingling with the tea and labdanum. It's really hard for me to describe or classify this perfume because it's blended so well and covers a lot of bases. There's this sweet, barely incense-y and cool white crispness to it that plays so well against the sensual bourbon vanilla and oud.

And I am obsessed with the white suede and leather notes. It's this soft nostalgic leather that makes me think of a vacationing somewhere ruggedly beautiful where everything is handmade and the sprawling ranch-house is crafted from the finest woods. New boots line the entryway, and a well-worn leather jacket hangs by the door. The sweet, fresh, earthy smell of fresh tobacco is comforting.

It's sophisticated and elegant, refined and unique. I absolutely overspray this like crazy when I'm alone. I've gotten a few compliments at work, and I really enjoy every stage of this perfume. There is a touch of greenness from the fig that brightens the composition so well and allows the sweetness to mellow due to the citrus-like white copal.
