Zephyr and Eros

I am alone. The solitary hike leads through a Mediterranean mountain forest. It is still very early in the year, the air is cold in the shade. When the sun hits my face, it warms me. And it finally lets the pine needles and resins give off their scent again. The narrow path runs on dry needles, I slowly descend towards the sea, sometimes there is already a flash of light through the bushes. The mild spring wind gently touches my face. It is so beautiful that my heart aches. There is almost not enough room in my chest to contain the rising feelings... Oh come on, come to me, don't make me wait any longer... Don't leave me alone with my longing any longer... My tears are running, I just let them come and descend further. My legs and hips roam through myrtle bushes. I pause and lean against a cypress tree. Further down, I can see silvery lavender bushes in the gardens above the coast. They will bloom later in the year... And down there in the gardens, the lemons have also turned yellow during the winter chill, glowing in the sun. Down there, the grass is already bright green. How beautiful it all is and how painful. I laugh and cry at the same time.

Who are Zephir and Eros?
Zephir is the "one who comes from the mountain", the bringer of spring, a mild, friendly west wind. He is a son of the Titan Astraios, who fathered him with Eos, the goddess of dawn. Greek mythology is not always entirely free of contradictions when it comes to relationships... But according to Alkaios of Lesbos, who wrote a hymn to Eros that is not really suitable for young people, the golden-haired Zephyr and Iris are the parents of Eros. And Eros? Eros means such deep longing that there is nothing more beautiful and nothing more painful. Eros embodies desire par excellence, the desire for something missing that I sorely miss. That I long for something that I myself know or am told I cannot attain (or him or her). And that is precisely why desire is so strong and so intense - and so beautiful in itself. But also terribly painful...

Please forgive the lectures - back to the fragrance: after a brief, rather alcoholic start, it immediately becomes tart, green and spicy: pine needles! I also sniff light bitter citrus notes, and later, subtle lavender and vetiver come through. Woody notes soften the whole thing a little later on, but the overall impression remains tart.
The fragrance is beautifully composed and embodies all the longing of the Mediterranean spring, for me captured in the figures of Zephyr and Eros.

Come on,
