Balm on the (stressed) soul
I don't usually have a thing about Kenzo. I don't like Homme, Night or Power, even if I don't want to deny all three fragrances a character of their own. My expectations at Jungle were rather low, especially as I couldn't really imagine the interaction of the ingredients mentioned. Well, the result can more than smell in my wetness. However, there are deductions for the zebra-like "undergrowth" on the flacon lid. However, if you need an integrated brush to clean the electric razor or the like, this is a great idea! ;-)
Now to the fragrance: It spreads a fresh and warm aura, matching the climatic zone that gave it its name. I would describe him as unisex rather than masculine. Fortunately, the sweetness indicated is very discreet and is not based on the often so typical Tonka vanilla combination. Citric wood is probably what my nose is most likely to perceive. But there is something else that - as with most Kenzos - provides an extremely independent note. I can't really attribute them to any of the ingredients and would describe them as balsamic and slightly floral and powdery.
The result is a round and harmonious overall fragrance with a long shelf life and a pleasant sillage, soft rather than scandalous, yet very individual. For me Jungle also fits perfectly into the jungle of the Greeting City and is universally wearable, i.e. appropriate for every season and every occasion. However, those who expect something herbaceous green or even resinous leather from the name are wound crooked. Jungle is convincingly soft harmony, which has been neglected here so far!
