Ouverture Xerjoff 2016

"Fig leaf" hardly does justice to the fruity opening of Ouverture by Xerjoff. Sweet, juicy, and quite fresh, the fruit it reminds me of most is probably peach if anything, but definitely some other fruits mixed into the melange. Slightly tropical and lactonic; perhaps mango? There are definitely also some floral tones, mostly smelling rose, but they don't take center stage, serving instead to extend the lifespan of the fruity notes and connect them with the base - a soft musky cashmeran with sweet amber and creamy sandalwood. I also get a distinct boozy note that isn't listed; another reviewer said rum, which I can definitely see. But even with the tropical fruit and rum, it doesn't come off as simply a piña colada/mai tai scent profile - this is much classier stuff. Wearable year-round (except perhaps very cold winter days) and perfectly unisex, with a very unique and distinct signature. Another winner from Xerjoff!
