Ouverture Xerjoff 2016

This perfume is like all seasons were put in a blender and they created this scent. Its a fruit bomb (summer) with lots of flowers (spring), some spices and warmth from cinammon and amber (fall) and an intense incense (winter). At first I couldnt decide if this is for summer due to the intense fruity smell or for winter due to the intense warmth and incence smell. It is a very weird fragrance and I believe its love it or hate it. Personally, its a "love it".

If you ask me to characterize it i would say its a fruity incence scent that creates a mysterious thick atmosphere, like the beggining of a drama play at the theater during the summer holding a fruit cocktail in your hand. Weird huh?? The name "ouverture" also means "opening" so it fits perfectly.

The performance is amazing like all Xerjoff fragrances I have tested and the quality is also amazing, again like all Xerjoff fragrances I have tested. I would not suggest a blind buy with this.

A couple of months ago i was in Freiburg looking to buy my first Xerjoff scent. I was looking for a scent you can wear daily but also for special occasions. When i was about to give up i saw this beautiful bottle and decided to try it out. On paper it was love at first smell so i decided to try it on skin. The opening smells like a very luxurious fruit. The fruity note stays through the drydown along with a hint of floral notes and cinnamon. After a couple of hours vanilla and amber start to show. On the first day I wore this i got around 5 compliments from strangers. This was when i decided that this will be my first Xerjoff scent. It is so unique and blenden well that no doubt theres people who will not like it but for me itˋs a luxurious masterpiece by Christian Carbonnel.

"Fig leaf" hardly does justice to the fruity opening of Ouverture by Xerjoff. Sweet, juicy, and quite fresh, the fruit it reminds me of most is probably peach if anything, but definitely some other fruits mixed into the melange. Slightly tropical and lactonic; perhaps mango? There are definitely also some floral tones, mostly smelling rose, but they don't take center stage, serving instead to extend the lifespan of the fruity notes and connect them with the base - a soft musky cashmeran with sweet amber and creamy sandalwood. I also get a distinct boozy note that isn't listed; another reviewer said rum, which I can definitely see. But even with the tropical fruit and rum, it doesn't come off as simply a piña colada/mai tai scent profile - this is much classier stuff. Wearable year-round (except perhaps very cold winter days) and perfectly unisex, with a very unique and distinct signature. Another winner from Xerjoff!

First off, we gotta talk about presentation because Xerjoff is doing it right. If I’m gonna pay for high-end fragrances that bottle that packaging and everything else that comes with it better be elite and Xerjoff did not disappoint.

This was a blind buy. I just wanted to have a Xerjoff in my collection. I made sure to do a little research to see if it was something I would like. It came in this Sunday and the packaging had me not wanting to even open it. I waited 4 hours and gave it a test. It instantly reminded me of Black Orchid by Tom Ford. Very similar but this right here has more of a gentle rose and some sweetness to make you question if this is for you. The dry down on me brings out the warm and spicy undertones. My coworker and I were fairly impressed.

intoxicating opening. candied fig and orange, dusted with cinnamon and a bit of rum or liqueur. slowly grounds itself into smooth suede and creamy sandalwood, maybe a bit of smoke tobacco. ultra cozy, deeply warming and good lasting. the ultimate scent for all the seasons. really hidden gem from xerjoff
