Holy smoke as a Cathedral during a winter service
IKON is a sign, as a word or graphic symbol, whose shape suggests its meaning. And this is ZIRH IKON. I was captured by the shiny black bottle with the round metal cap, imagining a mysterious black juice inside. Maybe a little disappointed with the performance. However, I am happy to report that IKON is much better than I imagined.

It begins with a light, fresh note of lemon and ginger blend. There is a quick transition from citrus freshness to spicy and aromatic notes of green cardamom and mugwort.

Midway through development, it releases a decent quality of resinous labdanum. You have to pay close attention, but cinnamon bark and clove buds are also detectable in IKON. No matter how hard I try, I don't have Iris's dusty vibe, at least not during this phase.

The base notes of IKON smell precisely as I thought, so dirty, amber and musky. The generous and warm olibanum appears after about an hour, it is resinous, smoky and dark like what you hear in a church during a winter service. It is impressive. Imagine putting all flavours of incense sticks in a can, closing the lid and opening it the next day.

Despite the presence of dark, deep and opulent oriental notes, IKON is not incredibly long-lived, and the sillage is not great unless you take a bath, so suitable for a dinner date or something on a cold and rainy night. I see it more of an evening perfume. Although it screams warm winter nights, I can see this works even on a warm fall evening due to cedar and vetiver, but I have yet to try it. Sure, you could quickly wear it for office work, given the harmless projection, but you'll need to freshen it up in the afternoon if you want to smell good when you get home or meet your friends after work. Here's my take on IKON, it's neither a meh nor a whoa, although I think I like it, a decent, cool evening scent. It's not an annoying scent, but safe and healthy, harmless, and it smells so damn good.

Classic smokestack in the Ocean
IKONs first minute is one of the best scent I have ever smelled. Chanting like a classic male shampoo, it is clean, fresh, even peachy. 60 seconds of marvel, and comes the shaving-cream.

I suspect a conveyor-belt method behind the heart notes, even if the notes suggest something special. I felt the same fragrance in many other perfumes for men, and I really like it whenever I am facing (or nose-ing) it. We could call it Axe-effect.
After 2 hours IKON surprises me with an invigorating battle spirit. The scents turns into a smoky, spicy odor, but behind the fume I smell water, almost ocean.
Unfortunately the base is characterless, still enough potent, but joyless smoky-dry, I think, it can work well with another chemistry.

First and last IKON is not bad, but is definitely for men.

"Being self-assured makes one upright, calm, and sovereign."
As a beauty label that exclusively caters to the male gender with its product range, Zirh has made many friends worldwide, alongside prominent consumers from the international sports and styling scene in America. Many products have also been awarded multiple times by the American men's magazine FHM and praised highly. As for the men's fragrance "Ikon," this is entirely justified - here you get a lot of quality for little money, a remarkable exception.

Ikon presents itself as an exceptionally high-quality fragrance with interesting and well-chosen ingredients. At the outset, the name Davana immediately catches the eye - an aromatic plant from India, whose oil captivates with its fruity-sweet and warm aroma. The combination of spicy cardamom and invigorating, sharp ginger nuances surprises once again in a very pleasant way and gives the fragrance a top note that could make many renowned perfume houses envious. The lemon here is only a quiet companion, providing just a slight refreshing undertone.

The heart note doesn't take long to appear and creates a wonderfully pleasant and soft warmth-spice interplay, which is mainly dominated by an exceptionally mild and beautiful cinnamon note and the dark, balsamic hints of labdanum. It is also lovely to observe that the fruity sweetness and subtle sharpness of the top note linger in the heart note, somewhat muted and pushed back, but still present. Clove seeds, which prove to be much shyer than the typical clove, accompany the heart with an exotic note and are excellently complemented by a slightly earthy and enchanting scent accord of orris root. I have yet to smell a combination of such exquisite and exotic fragrance notes that is even remotely comparable - a wonderfully unusual scent experience without any exaggeration or niche affinity!

The base also delights with perfectly dosed fragrance notes of smoky amber, sensual patchouli, and the woody and warm undertones of cedarwood and vetiver. I cannot detect the frankincense on its own, yet I miss nothing in this fragrance. Ikon is neither a loudmouth nor a coward; it is very present, but in a beautifully subtle way. A fragrance with extraordinarily high-quality ingredients, an immensely good dosage of the individual fragrance notes, and an extremely charismatic and sovereign presence - Ikon hypnotizes.

The timelessly puristic bottle design by Chad Lavigne, who has also created for Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren, may seem to clash with the potency of the fragrance at first glance, but it is nonetheless very elegantly and appealingly executed. The longevity is perfectly fine at a good 6 hours, and the current price level of the 75ml bottle is absolutely unbeatable.

CONCLUSION: Those who place great value on high-quality ingredients and are open to exotic fragrance nuances should definitely test this. Those looking for a sustainable, masculine scent without ostentation will find themselves in the right place, and anyone searching for a beautiful and high-quality Eau de Toilette for little money, far from faceless designer fragrances, will likely not regret a blind purchase - less risk, more fun!

Mysterious, but good!
The perfumes from the brand Zirh are rare, and it seems that luck is not on their side in Germany. For niche fragrance boutiques, these are all too affordable, but large perfume chains, especially the Turquoise ones, are increasingly standardizing their offerings.

From time to time, I have come across Ikon or Corduroy. There was never really time for a thorough examination. However, even a fleeting impression, probably on paper strips, made me keep these perfumes in the back of my mind. Thanks to LosPepes, I now have a generous sample in hand, far too much for one person.

Ikon is a strong spicy scent. It reminds me a lot of things like Catalyst by Halston and, with a bit of distance, also Gucci pour Homme. Cinnamon and cloves are present and shape it all the way to the base. Nothing really fresh: like Catalyst, it is a late 80s "powerhouse" scent, very masculine. Women might not want to wear this. This style doesn't quite match the cool, minimalist design of the bottle.

More interesting than the spice is what comes before it. Well, my knowledge fails me there. It smells a bit barbershop-like, perhaps like shaving cream, also somewhat alcoholic. This accord is really good. It reminds me a little of my Rodier pour Homme. I notice that this accord does not stay very close to the body. It separates from the somewhat piercing spice that you have on the skin and spreads out in the room. So, I would strongly advise against it as an office scent.

I have observed such "detachment effects" here and there when lavender is involved - but that doesn't seem to be the case here. My suspicion of a dark-toned musk as a significant carrier of this note is also not confirmed by the pyramid. Anyway, it is good, very good! The longevity of this note is not excessive, maybe 2 hours. You really only have the piercing cinnamon-clove spice directly on the skin for a long time.

Perhaps Ikon would be a good perfume for the evening. It is strong enough not to get lost in a crowded pub.

By the way, Ikon is currently available at a low price, 75 ml for under €20! Ikon does not deserve that; it is not that bad! The price drop of a perfume is a warning signal. Anyone who still wants Ikon should buy it soon.

As for the sample from LosPepes, it is still well-filled! Who wants to be next to have it?

Rock in the Cheapie Surf
Zirh? What is that? An alien from Star Trek? A metallic rock? Icon? Don't know it? You should, because I see no disadvantages here. Let me introduce it to you:

Price? - €10-23 for 125 ml - and the shower shampoo is included!

Bottle? - 80% of niche fragrances can't compete! Incredible, fantastic!

Smells like? - hardly comparable to anything. A mix of Catalyst, Code & a super light Musc Ravageur?

Feeling? - a bit 80s, but already timeless

Masculine? - Without a doubt!

Pleasant? - Very, despite a wild beginning it's suitable for everyday wear.

Notable notes? - Clove, incense, amber, tonka, cardamom, cinnamon

Worth the price? - excuse me?

Do women like it? - Certainly, but it's not a panty dropper!

Does Leimbacher like it? - Isn't that obvious?

Does Leimbacher buy it? - Yep, can't resist.

Does it deserve more attention? - Much much much more. But don't snatch it away from me now ;)

Sillage? - despite a thousand faces, everyday. Pleasant!

Longevity? - here too, no real weakness on the cheap front - 5-8 hours!

Discontinued? - not yet, but maybe soon. Who knows.

Conclusion? - aside from a few spicy fragrances already mentioned by previous speakers (especially Catalyst), I know nothing comparable. Almost a must-buy for the Zwannie!

Great olibanum, it's resinous, fumy, and dark as the one you could smell in a cathedral during a winter service. For cold evening events.

Quite nice but basically a wild jumble of barely recognizable masculine scents. The charm of a cheap aftershave.

WHO - Spicy Woody Oriental. A very good oriental for the price with cardamom, clove, and incense as a global player. Office-friendly.
