The last fragrance, created and co-developed by Gianni Versace is a masterpiece for me personally.

Many things are combined in this fragrance.

A touch of barberstyle, oldscoolstyle.

Awakens longings and dreams.
Independent in its own way.
Great-Owned with recognition value.

That's what intrigues me so much, he doesn't smell like 100 others, he just smells like "The Dreamer".

Autumn maturity

Disclaimer: I am an older gentleman of advanced retirement age who has applied fragrances for personal pleasure all his life. I have neither an analytical nose and professional background knowledge, nor the urge to remain as objective as possible in evaluations, as far as this seems at all possible with fragrances.

When the first days of August have passed, then you sit sometimes at the evening garden table, enjoy a glass of Portuguese red wine, and you remember.
Läßt the summer review, takes stock of whether one would have used his short earth time in the past weeks well behaved and sensible, and do not even notice how the view is drawn gently into a dark corner of the garden, which but not at all gloomy, but rather auspicious.
There at the very end, still behind the vegetable beds and herbs grow on an old fence - probably for over a hundred years - the tastiest blackberries on earth.
And then you get up, walk there thoughtfully, smell them, and look forward to the small harvest of the weeks now to come.

In my eyes, few scents capture the garden theme as beautifully as Versace's The Dreamer.
Its fruity sweetness is of such delicate loveliness that it blends almost creatively wildly with the herbal aromas. I deliberately do not want to track down individual fragrance notes in this eau de toilette, but let the whole garden work on me.

Not one of those ghastly concrete gardens with DIY pot plants in antique design pots, and also not a durchdesignten swank garden with Koikarpfenteich and wooden bridge - no, I'm talking about a real garden as you find it with grandparents, where hundreds of colours and smells rain down on a small person, with cherry and apple trees, where cucumbers grow, the brown-yellow leaves of the trees cover the lawn, and old wooden slats rot on the bank of a small village stream.

Possibly this image is as cheesy as this fragrance, possibly because the present has become too hectic to allow such gardens with all their back-breaking work to survive at all, possibly because of this we sometimes react cynically to this form of niceness, and possibly because of this very reason I love Versace's The Dreamer all the more.

That this fragrance seduces incidentally with one of the most tasteful bottles on the market and a very attractive price, this should be mentioned, without the beauty of the actual fragrance but even in the slightest want to relativize

Today I discovered a package with the inscription " The Drummer " at my fragrance dealer.

This fits perfectly with my drummer friend, who already has Gebby in January - as soon as Christmas has passed.

But the Versace fragrance reminds me of the upcoming cradle celebration of my dear friend.

This Versace will please my Little Drummer Boy.

But when I take the cartouche in my hand, I decipher " The Dreamer ".
But I'm also right about that, because the friend is a dreamy nature - a dreaming drummer so to speak.

Dreaming and calmly a pleasant lavender note welcomes me - nice old school.
Also appropriate, because my friend is a gentleman of the " old school ".
To every visit he brings flowers - very chivalrous.

Surprisingly outstanding

When you think of the big fragrance houses and popular perfume brands, Versace is rarely mentioned at the beginning. After all, most fragrances of this brand are felt to be permanently on sale. However, I had never seen one in a store: The Dreamer receives virtually no attention from Versace, although it is produced regularly
So I had imagined that he would probably rather smell stale or cheap. Rarely have I been so wrong: The Dreamer is sporty! When I spray it on, I smell a strong freshness and plenty of flowers, but they diminish a little bit in the course of time. In terms of style it goes in the direction of "Le Male" by Jeal-Paul Gaultier and "Pegasus" by Parfums de Marly, but is not as sweet as those two. One takes the fragrance in the environment, but I never had the feeling to have applied "too thick".

The Dreamer is a fragrance that has the potential to become a classic like "Acqua di Giò pour Homme" - both were released in 1996, by the way. Similar to Armani's blockbuster, The Dreamer is a timeless all-rounder that is suitable for all age groups. I personally could imagine that with a good remake it would become a box office hit. Why Versace doesn't put more emphasis on this fragrance in her portfolio remains a mystery to me.

Actually, I'm glad: After all, you can get 100 ml for less than 30 Euro, although it smells much more valuable. The bottle is also impeccably finished and makes a chic impression with a light 90s vibe. All in all, The Dreamer is one of the big surprises for me, which you can buy blind as a fan of Invictus, Le Male and co.

A positive surprise...

The fragrance has found its way to me, as I have heard almost nothing but good things about it in some YouTube videos and the reviews on Parfumo have also voted for it. I was also surprised by the low price for the bottle, even though it's a brand like Versace.

So I bought the fragrance here as a bottling in SOUK and was accordingly curious.

I can anticipate right away, I wasn't disappointed either.

Already with the first generous application, I was immediately surrounded by a very pleasant, flowery and slightly sweet scent. At the beginning it also brings a certain freshness that I did not expect.

As the fragrance progresses, the initial sweetness settles a little and a continuing floral impression remains. But not in such a way that it is disturbingly floral. Thank God, because such fragrances do not really appeal to me.

In my eyes the smell becomes very "pure" when the sweetness subsides. The fragrance then has a slightly powdery note for me, which I find quite pleasant in the long run.

I classify the fragrance as an all-rounder, because in my eyes it suits every occasion and season. From the age group I would rather classify this fragrance for men around 30 and upwards, a "teenager scent" is it in my eyes rather less
It is definitely suitable for the office, even if it reflects well at first, it is not in the disturbing measure.

I would rate the sillage and durability as good, especially considering the price. The scent lasts for a good 5-6 hours. The last few hours then rather close
Even if the fragrance is a bit older, it is by no means outdated or does not fit into the present day.
I will certainly continue to wear the fragrance and can only recommend it to anyone who feels addressed by the fragrance pyramid to give the fragrance a chance.
