Like Water on Hot Stone...
... that’s how Fiesta smells.
During a short vacation in the Netherlands in spring, I discovered the enchanting perfumery of Abdolito in Leiden. As soon as I entered the small, high-quality, and lovingly decorated shop, I felt immediately welcome. Abdolito himself greeted us with a smile and guided me and my companion through his impressive fragrance collection.
One of the scents I fell in love with and eventually purchased was "Fiesta". Although I usually can recognize fragrance notes quite well, "Fiesta" surprised me. For the first time, I cannot distinctly identify any of the listed notes, which makes this scent particularly fascinating for me and my nose. Instead, it evokes a strong association in me:
It reminds me of a stone heated by the sun that is doused with water, or a bit like hot asphalt after a summer rain. Angelina Patchouli would now say: Folks, this is not normal asphalt... this is hot asphalt covered with powdered sugar after a summer rain. This image is hard to put into words, but therein lies, in my opinion, the magic of this fragrance, which I would describe as quite linear in its scent progression.
The uniqueness of "Fiesta" probably lies in its ability to evoke vivid and unexpected associations. It is a scent that challenges the senses while simultaneously soothing them. Every spritz of this perfume takes me back to warm summer days and sudden rain showers that transform the asphalt into a steaming, vibrant carpet of scent, or to childhood summer vacations, playing with a watering can.
The sillage is moderate in self-perception, the longevity is average, and it is good up close.
Visiting Abdolito was not just a shopping trip, but an experience. His passion for perfumes and his sense for individual scents made the visit a special moment. I can only recommend to anyone who is in Leiden to visit this charming shop and let Abdolito take you on a fragrant journey.
I would be interested to know how the Parfumo community perceives the scent? Does anyone else get the hot rain-soaked asphalt with powdered sugar?

Definitely an intriguing fragrance pyramid, where rather resinous, spicy notes are combined with very sweet ones.
