If perfuming instead of showering were a fragrance
It's a hot summer night and I'm in Shanghai. I slip into my short, emerald-green dress, apply plum-red lipstick and tap the flowery, spicy scent behind my ear and on my wrists before heading out into neon-lit alleyways in search of sweet cocktails and tight clubs with good music. After a few drinks and some exuberant dancing in warm and humid rooms, I want to freshen up in a run-down club toilet under flickering neon lights, take out my scent and spray my wet armpits with it before ordering another cocktail at the bar and pushing my way back in between the wet and sweaty clubbers. The spicy sweetness and floral scent floating around me are strong, but our animalistic sweat scent is stronger.
