Only the bottle remains the same!
I can't even remember how long ago it was, but it must be around 20 years since the Club des Createurs de Beauté came to Germany. This is a cosmetics mail order from France, for which renowned designers create cosmetic products and fragrances that are then sold exclusively through this channel.
From the very beginning and still involved today is agnes b. - a fashion designer with her own boutiques in France. Under her name, fragrances and decorative cosmetics are produced for the CCB.
Her first fragrance, which is still available today - albeit in a completely reformulated version - was called Le b., of which I still have a mini here that smells just as beautiful as it did back then. This mini is at least 15 years old. It is a rose fragrance, although the pyramid mentions several other scent components.
The opening is very fresh and floral here, but despite the lemon, it is not citrusy. The top note lasts a maximum of 5 - 7 minutes for this fragrance.
The actual scent, as it presents itself through the beautiful sillage, develops with the heart note. Here, it is the rose that dominates, but clearly alongside other flowers like jasmine and lily. Flax has a very faint scent, and I don't know what melon seeds smell like; I haven't tried it yet.
Le b. is a definite women's fragrance; I can't imagine it on a man, no matter how hard I try.
Although the pyramid suggests a rather intense base, Le b. develops exactly the opposite. The base is still rich in flowers but darker, very soft, and noticeably less sweet than the heart note. Frankincense is so sparingly dosed here that, for me (I don't like frankincense), it is practically imperceptible.
It's a shame that this fragrance was also reformulated, as the new version completely misses the rose and smells very adjusted. I will cherish this mini.
