Short Love
"It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." This admittedly somewhat theatrical quote came to my mind because I have experienced something similar with this beautiful fragrance.
It starts with a slightly green fig note, accompanied by a fruity citrus that is truly beautiful. The iris joins in very delicately, giving the fig a gentle support without becoming powdery or soapy, and continues to leave the main role to the fig. I can't help it, I am in love with this natural, gentle fig that is so weightless, conjuring images of vacation and summer, and I can never get enough of it. I have found it, MY fig fragrance. But then, unfortunately, the early end comes. After 15 minutes, I can only smell sandalwood on my skin, a beautiful, creamy sandalwood mind you, but no fig anymore and none of the other notes. It's over and done. It must be due to my skin chemistry or my scent synapses, because no cream or layering has been able to prevent this premature ending so far. The sandalwood is surprisingly long-lasting, I can perceive it on me for about eight hours. On fabric, I can smell the fig longer, but there the fragrance unfortunately does not unfold as beautifully as on the skin.
I still recommend all fig lovers to test this truly beautiful fragrance, and maybe you will be lucky and the fig will last longer for you. Many thanks again to the lovely Parfuma, who sent me the sample.
By the way, the quote comes from the poet Samuel Butler, who also tended sheep for a time. He must have had a lot of time to think, and he is certainly right.
