Acqua di Parma! Woohoooo!!!
Yes… I love Acqua di Parma. Well, that's mainly because of one fragrance. So… NA?? Who can guess it?
3… 2… 1… …. Bah, nobody got it right,… are you all silly! :D
I love fig scents, so the correct answer must be: “Fico di Amalfi”. I’m not one of those people who would force a fragrance on others, but you MUST try Fico di Amalfi!! Right away!! He he he.
Of course, I’ve also tried almost all the other fragrances from AdP, and I think most of them are really well made, even if not all are outstanding or overwhelming. Still, I always enjoy trying (new) scents from this brand that I haven’t encountered or tested yet, like this fragrance here, from which I received a sample from a dear Parfuma friend.
So, let’s see what the fragrance has to offer. Aaaargh, I see pepper AND raspberry in the top notes. Can this go well when you throw these scent notes together in one pot? I mean, you don’t sprinkle pepper on raspberries, do you? On the other hand… I’ve never seen so many freaks and strange people in one place as here on Parfumo… you’re known for being capable of anything, so why not peppered raspberries?
Maybe you even participate in those silly, current “Kiki Challenges,” where you or the passenger in a car gets out while the car is moving slowly and dances alongside it (and to be honest, the girls in most of the videos look really hot *sigh*) mu ha ha ha :DD
The Fragrance:
Yep, I can actually smell raspberries with pepper on top. Some crazy nose probably thought this combination was a good idea… and they were right :D
Because it doesn’t smell as odd as one might think. The pepper gives the fragrance a certain spiciness, but in a subtly gentle way, without being overwhelming, especially in this heat again. The raspberries provide a sweet-fruity note, and in the background, clean scent notes can be detected. Quickly, roses join in, which pair well with the raspberries and have both a slightly sweet-floral aura and a slightly sour scent.
The pepper almost completely disappears a bit later, and you start to smell more and more roses and other floral notes, probably the freesias. The sweetness of the fragrance is still present but becomes a bit weaker, allowing you to better perceive the slightly sour yet pleasant scent of the roses. Even later, you finally recognize the other floral notes as freesias. They smell spring-like, nice, but also slightly floral-stuffy, well… that’s how I always perceive it. But that’s not a problem here :D
Otherwise, there are still roses with light, sweet scents. A little later, the patchouli also gives off its earthy scent (albeit lightly), but it mostly remains floral.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite okay. Not a really strong scent, but you don’t have to get very close to smell it. Especially in the warmer summer, it is still quite noticeable, as mentioned.
I found the longevity particularly good for a summer fragrance, as it lasted six to eight hours.
The Bottle:
The bottle has the same shape as most Acqua di Parma bottles, only it is flatter but a bit thicker. It is cylindrical, rising slightly trapezoidal in height. The same goes for the golden cap. The golden label shows the name and logo. And with the pink fragrance liquid, the bottle looks particularly beautiful. All in all, very well done.
So, I really liked the fragrance. And no, I’m not saying this just because it’s an Acqua di Parma scent and one of my favorite fragrances from this brand comes from it (Fico di Amalfi), but because the fragrance… well… really smells good. It may seem unusual at first sniff when you catch a whiff of peppered raspberries, but then the fragrance transforms into a very nice spring scent that also works in summer, as long as it’s not TOO hot, since the floral notes might come off as a bit stifling in the heat.
In any case, the fragrance fits both during the day and for evening activities. I would definitely give it a try :)
… uh… tell me, could it be that I once again picked on Parfumas and Parfumos in my introduction by saying that you’re all capable of anything silly? :D
I just can’t help it… and in this heat (especially today, when it’s particularly hot), I can’t even run away (because it’s just too exhausting) if you were to come at me with pitchforks... On the other hand, you would probably also find it hard to move quickly and slowly… nobody likes to move in this heat and would rather sit somewhere in the shade! So I can happily keep picking on you! You’ll never catch me! :D
To quote Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean: “You will never forget this day when you almost caught DonJuanDeCat!” :DD
