Decent coffee fragrance at an exceptional price
Sampling Authenticity Perfumes Coffee Lush, one of the more recent releases from this house based in Virginia, known for its varied and very affordable fragrances. It’s fittingly a coffee-centric fragrance, with some added spices and sweets that create a fairly well-rounded experience that’s nonetheless still led by the coffee. For the short-lived opening, it’s quite excellent, an inspired burst of roasted coffee with bits of tonka and vanilla as the main supporting notes at that point. The opening is quite brief, though—perhaps just seconds—and the mix quickly dries down into a less-sweet, more-acidic resting place, with a bit of generic synthetic DNA under the coffee/nutty/sweet/slightly spicy mix.
Overall, it’s a nice fragrance but does not stand out positively among other notable coffee releases except with respect to price: it is currently priced at $44 for 60ml, so certainly a steal in that respect, and a sample pack of all releases is generally quite affordable, as well. I’m still much happier with other coffee offerings and don’t particularly need this in my collection but as with every Authenticity release, I’m happy that I tried it and would recommend that others do the same. The value here is high even if the perfume is not among the very best in the coffee field.
