Anise, Fennel or Lavender de Luxe.
Oscillation, diffusion, back and forth, up becomes down, left becomes right and vice versa. The scent has cheerful whims not just in the mind. Rather, it consists of them! Few ingredients and yet so full of them. Headfirst into the lavender field, with feet in the fennel. Or is it anise after all? Small blue flowers and rough-haired leaves. That can only be the good old sage peeking out cheekily. And just like that, it's gone again. Or submerged in the abundance of the good few. Anise candies from Mrs. N's herbal shop? Fennel tea for a restorative cure? But YES indeed!
Grand appearance of true lavender: field-like and herbaceous-aromatic. A walk in Provence under a blue sky and a cool breeze that makes the summer heat bearable.
Slightly green inclination of the fennel aromas. Ferns stand in between. Herbaceous-light bitter-herb.
The bitterness vanishes in an instant, the green remains.
A persistent "elixir" with high recognizability. Is the forest nearby?!? Now I can also recognize that well. Cypresses? Subtle undertones reveal themselves in the herb field, which lavender once claimed for itself, then shares with fennel and anise, which then take over. To be slowly reclaimed by "lavender de luxe" after an unseen, secret rhythm. Beyond the cypress forest, the sun has already moved far to the west, the air is now cooler and more humid. Everything fragrant swirls in tireless change through the "olfactory" and delights the senses until evening and into the night!

Very helpful Review 10
Thu & Ich
... that could have almost been. The combination of lavender and anise at the beginning of the fragrance journey is truly fascinating. Here, with the introduction of giant fennel, memories of herbal candy stalls come to life, which are particularly popular at Christmas markets towards the end of the year and, at least for me, evoke more olfactory than gustatory well-being.

This is because I enjoy sniffing these herbal candies, but they only partially appeal to my taste. Nevertheless, I like this spicy-herbaceous-fresh aura that Thu exudes, like pastilles that really clear the throat. However, I somehow associate fennel or fennel tea more with illness than with health. I bet many feel the same way.
Towards the end, it becomes increasingly softer as musk mixes in like a powdery whisper.

On the skin, everything feels very pleasant and well-composed, whereas Thu on paper is burdened with a slightly piercing green undertone. Perhaps something fatty or fern-like has crept in, or the giant fennel conveys more scent nuances than regular fennel.

At least Thu offers a lot of herbaceous-Mediterranean flair far from the usual paths. Personally, however, I have found a super fragrance in Profumo Uomo by Isotta Fraschini, which, although it features neither anise nor lavender, conveys that Italian feeling of herbal spiciness in a much more refined and cultivated way.

Although it is quite close to the body and not very long-lasting for an Enrico Buccella fragrance, anise and lavender fans will definitely get their money's worth here, even if giant fennel may not necessarily bring about giant joy.

A New Note
Oh yes, Thu is something good. Here, anise and herbs have been combined into a very interesting men's fragrance, with the pyramid featuring the unusual scent note Ferula: Ferula, giant fennel or common giant fennel grows to considerable size in Mediterranean regions.

I don't know what Ferula smells like; as a city dweller, I'm not very knowledgeable about wild plants. However, when I look at photos, I imagine that the yellow flowers in spring might emit an aroma similar to broom, and something like broom can indeed be detected as a floral component in Thu.

Thu puzzles me - this scent reminds me of something, but I can't quite place it. I only know that I recognize this anise - sage - floral note from somewhere. My first thought when spraying it was anise candies, like those you find at Christmas markets and in pedestrian zones during winter. But this impression fades with the top note. Sage is certainly understandable, but there is also something unknown. By the way, lavender - at least for my sense of smell - is quite subdued. After a while, I perceive a slightly resinous note that gives Thu a bit of volume.

Let's leave it at that; here a perfumer has found or created a very unusual fragrance material, it's hard to say. Ferula apparently only exists at Sigilli. And it’s all very well done. In style, everything is understated, slim, and appears extremely agile. This herbal-spicy combination suspiciously approaches a classic fougère - coumarin and moss are not listed, but especially coumarin is found in all sorts of perfumes, so why not here as well?

Thu shows a noticeable development that occurs within the first half hour: from anise candy to the truly delicate herbaceousness, leading to a somewhat more pronounced resinous-medical note.

At times, a note reminiscent of old, stained paper emerges. We know this from some iris fragrances (Dior Homme and others), and I suspected that we might also be dealing with a bit of iris here. If one associates the color gray with powdery iris fragrances - I think of things like Divine's L'Homme de Coeur or Prada's Infusion d'Homme - then there is a commonality with Thu.

A musk in the base seems to support the fragrance and provide a slightly powdery, somewhat sweet - but hardly soapy - accent. However, the well-known "white musk" is not it or not alone. I detect in the drydown traces of a darker variant, similar to what I find in perfumes like Zirh Ikon or Rodier pour Homme, in my opinion.

Thu seems to stay relatively close to the body and should therefore be well-suited as an office scent. And Thu is anything but ordinary. I really appreciate that on one hand, there has been experimentation, which suits a niche label well, and on the other hand, the references to the classic fougère concept are unmistakable - best of both worlds!

But I don’t want to praise Thu too excessively: it is not a great fragrance. I find it lacks some complexity in the drydown. It is a bit too resinous for me, and this resinous quality is always on the verge of reminding me of paints and varnishes from the hardware store. At least: the curve was just managed by the perfumer. And above all, the common giant fennel rises! Here, a lovestruck perfumer has erected a monument to his Ferula.

I just don't like fennel. Despite the lovely anise note and the woody impression, Thu doesn't win me over. Fennel dominates.

Sometimes there's steamed fennel. I find that borderline. But of course, it's healthy! In this way, Thu smells healthy.

Pyrgos: soft soap, myrrh-like resin, and a certain warmth.
Thu: light, wearable, and also elegant, with almost classic references.

such a beautiful fennel-anise combo, finer than in Pyrgos.
A sweet-spicy dream.
If it weren't for the musty lavender, it would be a 9+

It smells like the herbal candy stand at the fair. Anise, fennel, herbal lavender. Musk creams out in the end. Definitely nice in summer.

Concentrated, herbal, medicinal, metallic, gluey start, air freshener lavender, musk cream. I should like it more than I do.
