The cozy smell of the autumn
God bless whoever came up with the idea of putting this on a promotional card and putting it in an order I made because thanks to that person I have discovered this wonder.

When I opened the order I made on a website and there was a card I said "hmm advertising" but when I brought it up to my nose, oh boy, that smelled like the softest and creamiest sandalwood and tonka I have ever smelled in my life.

Well, it worked, as soon as the cool weather started to arrive in the south I placed an order on the same website for a 100ml bottle of this wonder.

The first thing that comes out of the big door when you put on this fragrance is a fight to the death between cocoa, patchouli and rum. Surprisingly, considering that it is somewhat alcoholic, the rum wins, a smooth, aged and sweet rum.

This does not last long, approximately an hour at most because that rum is crushed by the smell of cocoa and patchouli. And be careful, don't imagine a cocoa like a 99% chocolate bar or anything like that, it's a powdered cocoa, soft, like the smell of cocoa powder without any sugar. All this is adorned and accompanied by patchouli. It's a delicious and creamy smell, almost huggable, a sensation that on the skin, will accompany you for approximately 8/9 hours projecting quite a bit, you're not going to suffocate anyone in a room but it will certainly smell like you.

After that time it settles and yes, it still smells like cocoa and tonka, but more in the background, what comes to the foreground is the ultra-soft and creamy sandalwood. Surely that softness is due to the cashmere, it's even sweet for having that woody smell of sandalwood. Sometimes I get like bursts of vanilla but without being cloying, it's all very soft.
And all this in a period of approximately 11 hours, easy, and I won't even mention the clothes.

As for the occasions of use are clear: autumn and winter at 200%. Day and night alike. Quite unisex but with that strong patchouli it leans more towards masculine and as for age and clothing, at least around twenty or above and something halfway formal but without going overboard, you know: some jeans, a shirt or something sporty and you're round smelling of cocoa and wood.

In short: Autumn has arrived at its most comfortable part and it has been put into a bottle for you to wear.

sweet & dark
A surprisingly "soft" patchouli, it’s alluring and strangely charming.

You're a little adult still trapped in the body of a child, and you catch a glimpse of this fragrance when you get briefly hugged by a trusted woman - a mother/big sister figure that is not actually part of your family.
She’s the living proof that the bullies in your school are so deadly wrong: you can in fact be a little weird, embrace this weirdness, and be incredibly beautiful, strong and successful at the same time.
She wears leather boots, a crystal necklace, and this perfume; you want to be exactly like her when you grow up.

Adult Gourmand
From a vague cocoa-dust-and-wood base rises a dark, diffuse fruit, somewhat like dried fruit on one hand, and on the other hand reminiscent of a canned fruit cocktail. The fruity aspect quickly becomes the predominant impression, pushing it further into the canned corner. I smell nuances of peach, apricot, plum, pear, cherry, pineapple…. My goodness! But for now, it remains just nuances; we are by no means dealing with a fruit fanfare (thank you, Angelliese, for this wonderful term). A little fruit will indeed take the lead, but more on that later.

After a quarter of an hour, however, it gourmandizes in another way as well. A charming cumarin-sprinkled vanilla idea. A now bold appearance of patchouli-darkened cocoa. And a hint of that sugary quality that, for me, the announcement "rum" usually reliably refers to. So far, this is a nice, characterful, adult gourmand with a focus on dark fruit.

It takes a good hour before patchouli gains significant volume. It is of the dark-chocolate variety and remains that way for the rest of the day. The fruit mixture, however, shows less stability. It transforms over the course of the morning into a kojak-lollipop-like cherry twist. This, combined with the suspected cumarin, smells quite amusing. A blend arises that could just as easily be described as "cherry-flavored pipe tobacco" or "woodruff jelly with vanilla sauce." Or indeed everything together. The patchouli is, in the truest sense of the word, the "grounding," connecting element and adds seriousness to the fragrance.

Back to the vanilla: Around midday, it gradually develops dominance. It remains airy (apparently the woods are doing their job), yet I would have wished for a slightly stronger role for the patchouli. Regarding the further development, the pyramidal weight of woods of all kinds leads one astray. A creamy vanilla-sandalwood layer is on top. Still good, but now rather something for fans of that particular direction.

Conclusion: I like it best at the front, with its tasteful fruit mélange and the dark-dust chocolate that reminds me of L'Heure Défendue by Cartier (and that means something). The kojak-lollipop along with its companions challenges me a bit more. Towards the end, Suma Oriental is less my thing, but it can be considered quite decent.

I was able to try all four fragrances from Une Nuit à Bali, and my thanks go to Derailroaded. Although none of them made me want to buy, they all at least somewhat appealed to me. They are all test recommendations.

Of dark spiced chocolate, warm cashmere blankets & the anticipation of winter
This fragrance was one of MY discoveries of 2021!

I had been searching for a not-too-sweet chocolate scent that also features spices and noble woods. The chocolate should remind me more of high-quality cocoa than of pralines and definitely not come across as "sticky".
Unexpectedly, I came across this candidate while trying a discovery set from the house "Une Nuit a Bali". I was actually looking forward to the more floral scents, as I was at that time searching for an addition to my fragrance wardrobe for spring...

And then you, Suma.
Sprayed on my wrist, wide eyes, heart racing (really, with wonderful first scent impressions, my heart literally skips a beat ;) ).

Bitter-dark chocolate, gentle spices - and the promise that there's much more to come.
Over the next approximately 6 hours, I keep sniffing my wrist and have to smile every time. The scent deepens and becomes a bit earthy (Hello, Patchouli!), while I already strongly perceive the vanilla/almond notes of the tonka bean in the base.
A constant companion are also the fine wood nuances, which prevent the fragrance from becoming one-dimensional or too gourmand at any point.

Dreamy!
And now the RIGHT season has finally arrived to wear it.
During an autumn walk, snuggled in a cashmere scarf (which still smells like Suma for at least two days afterwards).
Or on a cozy Sunday morning, with a cup of milk coffee with cinnamon, and a good book. ;)

Yes, autumn can stay!

A Night with You..
A night with you has shown me how beautiful you really are..
You are cozy, delicious, and very seductive to me…
One must take some time for you, but I don’t find that bothersome, rather very exciting, because you have a few surprises in store.

At first, the rum and cocoa are very strong. It smells to me like a delicious, juicy rum ball.
Then, over time, I start to notice more and more cocoa, more and more vanilla, and more and more tonka bean. And all of that together smells very seductive, making you want to keep smelling yourself :) so simply delicious and a super beautiful rounded scent️

I think you can wear it well dosed at any time, as it’s not a beast and won’t disturb anyone.
I will definitely test more fragrances from this brand.
I am very enthusiastic
Thank you for reading️

To put it simply, it's a rummy, cocoa-dusted, never-too-sweet woody warming wonder. Great for winter!

Oriental vanilla - sweet patch in equal proportions, leaning slightly vanilla. Has a boozy, spicy, burnt aspect that's very enjoyable.

Rum and cacao are gone in a few minutes, replaced with a strong patchouli. After an hour, just a warm but unimaginative sandalwood lingers.
