Blooming beneath the rain
Perfume can be approached in many ways—some explore a single material in depth, some focus on finely layered structures, and others seek to capture the feeling of nature. Ashes belongs to the last category.
It evokes the scent of muddy earth washed by heavy rain. In the midst of cold, murky, inorganic water, fresh green sprouts begin to emerge, eventually giving way to full bloom.
The opening is marked by geosmin, creating a wet, earthy atmosphere with a slightly musty undertone that recalls the air during a storm. Green notes—grass, clover, and patchouli—soften the rough edges and shift the impression toward a mossy, green-covered forest floor.
