Resinous with depth...
The things I get under my nose over time are simply fantastic. And some fragrances are also composed with a lot of imagination. Like this "Rodeo", which, according to its name, is supposed to be reminiscent of wild horse shows by tough cowboys.
But it smells neither cowboy-like nor American. Rather, it has classic woody tones that come across as very resinous. Like fir balsam and pine. Deep down, it has very inky birch tar, slightly "animalic" even, and spices are also not far off the mark. Sage and thyme are to be suspected, possibly also cumin. Probably also patchouli and vetiver. But they are all subordinate to the resins, which are the most prominent.
This fragrance is best compared to perfumes such as Dali pour Homme Eau de Toilette or "Tsar (Eau de Toilette) | Van Cleef & Arpels" and the like. But it has some olfactory properties that are unique to it.
Later, it also becomes wonderfully mossy, which combines particularly well with the dark resins and gives "Rodeo" a dazzling green twist.
And the longevity and radiance are truly fantastic for a fragrance labeled as an "eau de cologne"! Fortunately, this happens more often with such ultra-old "cameos". Fortunately for the wearer and their nose :-))
