Red Flag Fascent 2026

Such an interesting composition. Earthy, dry, powdery and warm, unique but not overly done, alluring yet not basic.
It’s a little alcove in a garden, the type of which we dream to have if money and society were not a thing. Reading a book under a bamboo architecture, the air around you full of soft burning incense, freshly picked up beetroot covered in dirt in a basket next to you. It’s a very colourful creation too : deep reddish purple, bright green, blond wood, grey smoke. It could be an abstract painting.
I like when a classic profile offers a pleasant unusual twist. It doesn’t have to be a lot, in the end : just a bit of veggie.

i love me a food inspired fragrance with several nuances. i’ve gotten used to linear gourmands frags (especially the vanilla ones), but not when it comes a vegetable like beetroot.

i’ve been surrounded by beetroot since i was born, as my mom loves beetroot and still begs me eat some, and Red Flag really brought back some memories.

you might expect something overly sweet, much like its taste, but it turns out to be an airy, rich and intriguing scent, enhanced by a powdery & earthy iris combined with a vegetal & spicy beet root scent. i feel like i’m pulling a beetroot straight out of the soil from my garden and smelling it in its rawest state. i can’t forget the tonka bean note in the dry down, obviously adding a touch sweetness ofc but, to my nose, it also has something almost green, minty, fresh, still staying true to that vegetal aspect. so mouthwatering.

In the last 2 years, there has been a veritable flood of sweet gourmands that have allowed people to smell like a dessert. Be it caramel, toffee, chocolate, coffee, meringue, or cupcakes - upon entering a store, people disguised themselves as calorie-laden meals. “Red Flag” is my long-awaited ‘Finally!’ Finally, the type of gourmand that I like.
How brilliant is this opening with garden-fresh beetroot? Fresh and soft with cardamom. Just a hint of sweetness from the tonka bean. The beets softly glide over the skin. As if one had held a fresh beet in their hand. The iris pairs wonderfully and comes across as a herbaceous iris. A bit like in “Velvet Iris” by Dominique Ropion.
Alongside it, there’s cuddly palo santo. I hardly notice the patchouli.
In the dry-down, the cardamom remains. And it stays for a long time.

For me, the fragrance is unisex and can be worn well during the day.

Red Flag reminds me of "The Dress," which some saw as blue-black and others as white-gold. Depending on what I think of, I perceive the scent completely differently. When I think of beetroot, I smell almost only beetroot. When I focus on iris and incense, those notes come to the forefront.

What’s fascinating is that the beetroot note stays with me for a long time. This makes the scent almost like an optical illusion for the nose. Sometimes it appears earthy and vegetable-like, sometimes powdery. But it all fits together wonderfully.

When I only looked at the fragrance pyramid, I thought: No way. This is never a scent I would like.

How one can be mistaken!
The beetroot is actually quite noticeable after spraying, but not in a vegetable garden style. It gives the fragrance something earthy, very present. The cardamom ensures that the earthiness does not become unpleasantly dominant, but rather softer and more interesting.

With iris, there is generally a real 50:50 chance that I will like it in a fragrance. But here: Simply a perfect match. It is neither overly powdery nor extremely strict, but is the ideal connection between the individual fragrance notes. The scent develops on the skin, becoming softer and rounder. Palo Santo in the drydown is the icing on the cake for me, because I love the smell. Nevertheless, the fragrance is not heavy or old-fashioned.

Sillage and longevity are very good for me; I could still noticeably smell Red Flag in the evening. For me, it is a confident scent that, thanks to the well-woven earthy-woody tones, does not become intrusive. I see it more as something for special occasions or days when you need a little extra confidence. I have actually rarely been asked so often what a beautiful fragrance it is. And for me, particularly important: An affordable scent that still does not suddenly present synthetic headache notes. Unisex is accurate; I can also imagine it well on a man.
