A new vanilla chapter...
Yesterday at the perfume meeting, I sniffed it for the first time... and immediately took notice.
Turn the Page is for me a wonderfully floral, slightly green vanilla scent that finds a pleasant balance between feminine softness, spicy sweetness, and creamy woody freshness. A fragrance that can actually be worn all year round without ever feeling out of place.
The opening with the green and pleasantly floral top notes is right up my alley: Freesia and green leaves open cleanly, lightly buoyant, giving the fragrance a summery fresh vibe. You want to go out into nature and experience something. The scent has been compared by others to "Angélique Noire | Guerlain," but I do not share this opinion. While Angélique Noire also offers a green, spicy vanilla, I would describe it more as herbal. Turn the Page is not herbal, but rather subtly green.
In the heart note, it then becomes warmer. The vanilla comes softly, creamy, and without the heavy sweetness that some vanilla scents have. A subtle jasmine joins in, rounding off the fragrance beautifully feminine, without drifting into an overwhelming, suffocating floralness. There is incense in it, but so minimal that you can only sense a very light dry warmth... really just in the background. For true incense fans, this is surely a disappointment.
The base note with Ambrox and sandalwood makes everything pleasantly warm and creamy soft. Ambrox gives the fragrance a modern feel, without any sharp disturbing notes, while sandalwood adds creaminess.
Overall, Turn the Page reminds me a bit of Love Delight Eau de Parfum by Amouage, but simpler, less complex, yet pleasantly uncomplicated and likable for everyday wear.
Since the fragrance is also affordable, I could definitely see it outside of the Parfumo bubble, perhaps even as a signature scent for fans of floral spicy vanilla fragrances. I see it more on female individuals, but due to the subtle incense note and sandalwood, I could also enjoy the scent on men.
For me, Turn the Page is definitely a fragrance that I will keep an eye on. If there is a travel size, it will probably find its way into my collection.
