The White Chest of Drawers
Yes, I don't understand it, for me the candidate smells very minimally woody. I immediately thought of a brand new white wooden chest of drawers. Do you know that specific smell of new wooden furniture? That's how Flower Muse starts for me. A shy girl in a white cotton dress with lace trim sips her jasmine tea, minimal iris note! But the paper iris! I immediately thought of a school notebook lying on this chest of drawers. Unfortunately, that's all I perceive. A restrained scent that will surely find its audience (Mojave Ghost, Indi by Katy Perry, Undressed by Zadig and Voltaire) comes to mind.

Hygge Charm instead of Flower Power
Flower Muse I really like. It is very quiet and subtle - typically Scandinavian - but that is exactly what gives it its charm. No loud appearance, but a pleasant, understated companion for everyday life.

The opening is citrus-fresh with zesty mandarin and a hint of pink pepper, gently cushioned by this sweet-scented lathyrus, also known as sweet pea.
Then it becomes powdery and slightly creamy with iris, poppy, and jasmine tea. I notice the iris quite early on.
In the base, a little sandalwood and musk shimmer through, very subtle, very cozy. The base is creamy and well-groomed.

The longevity is quite okay up close. The scent is not a long-distance runner, but I can still perceive it softly for hours. The sillage remains discreet, almost intimate. Those looking for scent clouds will not find them here. But for those who appreciate something unobtrusive and natural, Flower Muse is just right.

I can easily imagine it as a daily companion at work in the office, or also in direct contact with people (e.g. medical, social, or educational professions).
For me, a quiet favorite. Elegant, unexcited, and really beautiful.

Maybe the next candidate for my wish list...?

I Really Like You
Denmark, ah childhood at the Baltic Sea. Scandinavia and perfume, however? Not necessarily a pairing I would mention in a family feud. Yet, the relatively new brands coming from the North have all been quite compatible with my preferences so far. Fresh/green/white/herbaceous? Check! Wood/salt notes? Check! Creamy? Check! No vanilla? Check, very good chances of avoiding that. Friends of heavy orientals might start to complain at this point that one could just wear body lotion/hand cream instead of perfume, but at least the Clean'n'White faction doesn’t reliably cause headaches and shortness of breath in the office.

I specifically sought out Flora Danica because I found the pyramid interesting, even though I have no idea what poppy smells like (I know how it tastes, but what about the red things?). At first glance, there’s nothing in there that could be problematic.

When I finally got to test it today, I had already forgotten about the poppy and approached with subtle anticipation. A dose of fresh hygge, please, preferably in the colors white-green-cool oak. First impression: restrained. This is not a silage monster. But: the green-fresh-white order has been fulfilled. Wild herbs and fresh hay come to mind, and marigolds! Definitely marigolds. Mhh okay, they’re not in there - how on earth does scent vetch smell? Coincidentally like marigold? Whatever, I like it so far, it’s getting slightly creamy and has exactly that clean scent note that will probably lead to my financial downfall. But somehow it’s not as conforming and pleasing as usual. More pragmatic!

At what point does the classification "older" actually apply? 30? 50? Flower Muse is not 20, more like 35+. She has a pixie cut, isn’t necessarily wearing makeup, and wears dark blue turtleneck cashmere sweaters with a beige oversized trench coat. She is sporty, down-to-earth, and yet somehow elegant. I want to be her friend!

After 20-30 minutes, the marigold quietly says heidå and the lavender (ha! I even recognized that.. because lavender always reminds me of fresh laundry) cautiously sneaks in from the side. Not too loud, not super clean like in "Spring Breeze | Clean," but rather harmoniously creamy as a complement. It becomes (for me! my skin can be quite "funny"...) green-tea-like, dry-powdery-fresh-clean. Absolutely unsweet! I can understand why some perceive it as dry/dusty from here - I think it’s great! Jasmine is not directly identifiable, iris is softly powdery (not too much lipstick).

The delicate lavender is allowed to stay, and musk/woods round off the powdery-dry a bit. VERY nice noble creaminess, perhaps just through the combination almost seeming unisex (definitely not before). Flower Muse should work wonderfully year-round except for the absolute midsummer. My white-light wood hygge order was fulfilled to my utmost satisfaction with a little clean surprise twist.

Ethereal wellness scent, soft jasmine tea with the gentlest herbaceousness and bell-like iris. Dreamy, intimate, melancholic.

Good start with a misty, dry iris, shifts in the heart towards "Florentina" and becomes too sweet for me. Still pleasant and*

A finely tuned symbiosis of tea and iris.
Light citrus notes provide a constant freshness.
Delicate, innocent, pure.

A powdery dry iris fuses with zesty jasmine tea. The result is a wonderful everyday scent for spring/summer.

A delicate iris powder cloud surrounds the fairy queen. Unobtrusive, H/S not great but still so special.

Lavender + delicate iris sit sipping tea, snuggled in white blankets on the wooden terrace, enjoying the first spring sun; soft, feminine, subtle.

First a very dusty dry iris powder, then soft, gentle clean creaminess. Very nice, although it quickly becomes close to the skin.

Starts with dry iris and then becomes pleasantly floral soft with a hint of spice. Pretty, but somehow it doesn't fully captivate me.

The herb-bitter jasmine tea, which feels fresh and cooling, is joined by a carroty iris.
Spring-like, a bit unharmonious for me.
