Panther on the Piano
I read that 330 is inspired by the fragrance L'eau d'hiver by Frederic Malle.
I tested it cautiously, as a Malle fragrance once caused my husband to have a headache - as he credibly described to me.
But today I am undisturbed and can make another attempt with a Malle offspring.
330 has nothing wintry for me - but rather something attractively feminine.
It reminds me of the powdery makeup aura of my great-aunt, a refined lady whom I liked very much.
I only know her as platinum blonde and perfectly made up and styled.
She lived in a house full of exquisite antiques and paintings, which showcased her good taste and style confidence.
But on the precious furniture and on the piano - she was a musician - rested equally well-kept Steiff animals, which were free of dust.
I found this atmosphere quite enchanting, as it was both noble and cozy at the same time.
Both my aunt and the plush toys exuded a delicate honey-caramel scent, which probably came from her perfume.
Of course, I do not know if it was L'eau d'hiver - but this mixture, underscored by her powdery scent, captures it quite well.
A hint of floral from the bouquet in the antique vase is also in the air.
I have to smile, as I have inherited much from my aunt.
I also enjoy decorating with plush toys, and on my piano sits my favorite rabbit - just like on her piano a black panther.
The love for music unites us as well.
I am truly grateful to 330 for this enlightening realization.
