A vital, sweet and aromatic Fougére
The opening is bitter-tart and develops into a sweet-tart, dark leather accord with aromatic spices. This impression is unusual, edgy and interesting.
This is complemented by a newly interpreted aromatic fougère. On top of this is a hint of fruity, floral sweetness, accompanied by subtle notes of smoke and tar.
When the bottle was first used, these notes were clearly more concise and distinguishable from one another. In the subsequent applications, the whole thing condenses into a compact fougère composition that is more clearly and directly recognizable as such. It appears more classic, the sweetness and bitterness are dimmed. The drydown is increasingly floral. While the leather notes and fruitiness are subordinate to the aromatics and spiciness.
Due to its relatively dark aura, I can imagine the "Connect him" for the evening or at cooler times of the year. If it were a little more sophisticated, it would also be suitable for a date, a dinner or for occasions where an exuberant sillage is unnecessary.
Anyone with an affinity for classic fragrances, industrial or machine scents and classic leather could have an interesting experience here.
It is noticeable that although the implementation of the fragrance leaves a less high-quality impression, it still represents a significant improvement on its predecessor "FCUK Him". Both have a short shelf life.
For ambitious perfumistas, this average quality could ultimately be the decisive factor in not seeing any further use for this fragrance. In the context of the low price called for, this can be tolerated. Ultimately, I sympathize with "Connect Him" because of its reference to classic fragrance ideas and its appealing bulkiness. It is remarkable that in 2007 FCUK dared to launch a release outside its target group that is so inspired by classic fragrances.
