Softcakes instead of dark chocolate
Sometimes the name of a fragrance can mislead you.
With "Dark Chocolate" I would spontaneously expect dark chocolate, but this fragrance is quite different from what you might expect.
The opening is unexpected, the scent reminds me strangely enough of fragrances such as Acqua e Zucchero or Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette, albeit in a less synthetic version.
The start is already quite sweet.
Although the mandarin is recognizable, to me it smells more like orange jelly, which is familiar from soft cakes: very sweet, slightly cake-like and covered in a hint of chocolate.
The cardamom is not clearly perceptible, but the subtle spiciness present could definitely be attributed to it.
This interplay continues in the DD: a sweet orange or tangerine reminiscent of soft cakes, with a light pinch of chocolate.
This is precisely why I find the name misleading, because the chocolate is so subtle that you can hardly smell it.
To be honest, I have to use my imagination to identify a chocolate note at all.
The slight spiciness, which I attribute to cardamom, holds up bravely until this stage.
At the end, there is a slight hint of labdanum, but most people will hardly notice it.
Vanilla probably provides the consistent sweetness right from the start.
The fragrance remains constant until the end: quite sweet, with a jelly-like mandarin and this specific note that reminds me of the base of soft cakes, garnished with minimal chocolate.
The performance is fine.
Although the fragrance could radiate more strongly, I would still rate the longevity and sillage as slightly above average.
Dark Chocolate is unisex, but in my opinion it will still be too feminine for men (W65%/35%M).
Do you need it?
It's not necessarily my fragrance, but I don't think it's bad either.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't buy it or recommend it to others.
The bottle of my Peppermint was definitely enough for me to test it.

A small test was also enough for me. Not bad, but nothing that makes you want to have it.

Exactly, we agree on that again 😄
