"No silly wand-waving and childish sorcery here!"
Severus Snape himself certainly did not concoct this brew, for him the ability to create potions was the art "of how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses, to brew glory and fame in a cauldron, how to bottle fame and even how to cork death."
You won't encounter corked death when applying "Courage | Harry Potter," but we are also miles away from Felix Felicis.
Courage starts dark, fruity, bitter, and simultaneously quite sweet, with floral notes joining in. It’s a somewhat heavy fragrance, but not exclusively mixed for the evening. In my opinion, suitable venues would primarily be clubs and parties, but everyday wear is also conceivable.
The floral aspect becomes stronger over time, but unfortunately has a slightly cheap quality to it. This dampens the positive first impression.
The Potter fragrance starts with good sillage, which, however, begins to fade after just 1½ hours. Despite the EdP concentration, this should not come as a surprise at this price point. The magic lasts for 5 hours, then it’s over.
The bottle is, like its sister "Passion | Harry Potter," inspired by an advertisement from the 6th film in the series. A very nice Easter egg, along with its visual appeal. Unfortunately, the actually great design is ruined by the extremely cheap execution. Plastic cap, which is far too loose, and then the poorly applied ribbons - it almost feels like a bad fake.
Overall, it is difficult to give this cheap mass product an adequate rating. Although the scent itself can never deny its cheap origins, it is quite pleasant and does its job surprisingly well - if you overlook the weak performance.
The competition is fierce, so it’s more for Potter fans. Snape, in any case, would not lift a finger for this brew.
