Elegant Allrounder of the 1st Class
"Moa" by Mirko Buffini was a gift from ViRa11 in a swap deal. A big thank you! to you again :). I had never heard of the house before and had not smelled anything from it either. At first, I was a bit skeptical as neither the bottle nor the fragrance pyramid appealed to me. However, that was about to change dramatically!
Fragrance:
"Moa" gave me a WOW! effect right from the first spray. It comes across very soft and light in the opening, yet it is also strongly present without being intrusive. In the first minute, it gives me that kick like when you open an ice-cold 0.33 Cola in a glass bottle and smell it. This is not to say that it smells only like Cola, no! but it has, in my opinion, that little nuance in it.
In addition, I smell the cinnamon, a little nutmeg, clearly the spices, wood, and musk. Normally, the fragrance pyramid does not correspond to my preferences at all, so I am quite surprised that I like the scent so much.
In the drydown, the Cola nuance is hardly or no longer perceivable, and the floral notes gradually come through. These, mixed with the spices, musk, wood, and cinnamon, create a very solid and rounded scent profile for my nose.
"Moa" is a very cool and elegant fragrance for me that can be worn on any occasion, whether it's a date, work (though it's too precious for that), or a wedding, it always works. Above all, I find it very suitable for dates as it flatters the person opposite and conveys an attractive warmth.
Longevity:
"Moa" lasts easily ~ 7 hours+ on my skin, which I think is very good and mostly justifies the price. The great thing about it is that after ~ 1 hour it retains its scent throughout the duration; I don't like that with every fragrance, but "Moa" is an exception :)
The sillage is strong and clearly present in the first ~ 2 - 2 1/2 hours, then it decreases hour by hour.
In warmer temperatures, I would pay attention to the dosage, as too many sprays, in my opinion, ruin the character of the fragrance and make it less light and elegant. I would recommend 3 sprays; if you like a bit more, 4 sprays, but that is really the maximum.
In cooler temperatures, you can easily apply 5 sprays.
In conclusion, I want to say that I am currently building my TOP 10, and "Moa" has made it right in! I simply love this fragrance; it is as cool and seductive as a TOP 10 fragrance must be for me and my nose!
Honestly, I am surprised that "Moa" is not so well known in the community and that there is only one comment about it.
I can only recommend everyone to test it (small decants are available online)!
