Sweet powder puff with a fresh start
Disclaimer: I have never tried or even smelled the Easy Bake powder, so I will review this fragrance on its own merits.
Easy Bake starts out light, powdery and fresh. The pear and the aquatic notes make it seem quite cool and not very sweet at first. It has a bit of a terracotta, clay pot vibe, which I enjoy. Think of a powder in an earthenware container.
I do like it, but the opening feels a little too fleeting for my taste. It's nice that it feels cooling instead of warm, but the fresh notes are a bit too prominent for me at this point.
The two main aspects of the heart phase are powdery notes and tropical florals. The contrast between these two sides makes the fragrance very wearable, it's neither too far on the beachy summer side for winter, nor too oppressively powdery to wear in warm weather.
My favorite part is the drydown though. The scent finally turns warmer and the vanilla takes center stage. It's really beautiful at this point, a perfec powder puff that is sweet, but not sickly. The roasted coconut note gives it a toasty texture without being too obvious. There is still something that feels dry and cooling about it all, but it's balanced now. A truly lovely scent for everyday wear.
If the whole perfume was like the drydown, it would be an avsolute homerun for me. But it isn't. While the other parts are enjoyable, too, they keep Easy Bake out of must have territory for me.
