Tuba of the Paradise Life-Soul Tree
Furthermore, the name Tuba is translated as bliss, joy, or well-being.

It is a brown-green vetiver, rose, and neroli scent to indulge in.

Inevitably, it transports me mentally to Shrek's swamp.
There in the forest, where this ogre lived, he never wanted to leave his beloved swamp,
he just wanted to have his peace there and preferred to bathe in his vetiver swamp, surrounded by
rose bushes and orange groves,
he reveled and wallowed in it and let himself be intoxicated by the lovely vapors.

By the way, I have heard that Princess Fiona is also quite taken with this scent...
there is nothing more to say, they lived happily ever after.........

Linear Thing
With no frills, "Tuba" gets straight to the point - it starts off with a strong, almost brownish vetiver, which is more nutty than earthy in aroma. It's so rough that a supporting contribution from scratchy patchouli seems plausible to me. This would be supported by the fact that the scent touches on a ham-like quality in the opening minute. On the other hand, this impression fades quickly.

It also becomes fresh - it just takes a little while. Lemon verbena might be involved, as I have already suspected in the sibling scents Sahâra and Incence. Otherwise, the thought of vetiver from the grapefruit corner is naturally close at hand. I clearly push the freshness part back there. However, the exact origin ultimately plays hardly any role; let's leave it at that.

The boss is, after all, the "dark" vetiver, which really ramps up within the first hour and develops a distinctly metallic quality together with the aforementioned citrus aspect. Next to it, it's now more earthy than nutty. Or is it? Hmm. The herb seems to waver back and forth between the earthy and nutty side over the hours. This certainly shouldn't be considered a scent progression action, but it does provide a certain basic variety.

It should be added that I cannot detect such a wealth of companions as my predecessor could; respect! I agree with the muscat sage and might even occasionally drop the -sage. I also sign off on a creamy addition at the end. But otherwise, Tuba - character-wise - is thoroughly a vetiver scent. In my previous experiences with scents from Mekkanische Rose (this is the third test), there has been no talk of particular refinement. Nevertheless, at least Incence and now Tuba do their linear thing quite well.

At a price of 47 euros for 50 ml, Tuba is definitely a test tip for our vetiver enthusiasts community. It should not be overlooked, however, that Comme des Garçons fills two and a half times the amount of a similarly positioned Vettiveru for practically the same price.

I thank Mokka for the sample.

Who can wear vetiver more beautifully?
A vetiver scent, round, earthy, deep, warm. Comment finished!

Well, maybe a few more words:
Everything revolves around the extract from vetiver, a (tropical) sweet grass species. Compared to the extract, nothing has been removed or reshaped here; the scent is warm, sweet, earthy. No sharp or citrusy clean-fresh vetiver notes as are prominent in well-known vetiver fragrances.

A linear scent progression celebrates the wonderfully sweet grass appropriately. Deep and warming notes (like labdanum, a hint of tonka, and a tiny drop of tolu) complement without reaching any ready-to-eat sweetness. To my nose, it is finely underscored with a hint of a cool green-spicy accord of galbanum and clary sage.

I would describe the longevity of the EdP as good (7-8 hours); the sillage is stronger in the first 3-4 hours but elegantly retreats to a strong skin proximity and concludes in a greenish milder togetherness of vetiver and labdanum (6-8 hours). It is also very pleasant to wear at higher temperatures, where the scent blooms and radiates in a completely different way.

I highly recommend testing it on the skin, as it takes a few minutes of the body's warmth to animate the scent and create the overall olfactory impression.

Once the black smoke of the beginning has dissipated, potent and dark vetiver emerges, surrounded by other heavy greenery.
